REX's POV

I couldn't suppress the smile that broke my lips when the first thing that I saw upon opening my eyes was Ellie's beautiful face. She was still sleeping soundly and she looked so innocent and serene. I touched her cheek in a feathery manner, careful enough not to wake her up.

I knew that I tired her out last night and it felt so good thinking that I was the one who's with her now and not another man like that guy, Maxime.

"Te quiero, querida" I whispered to her before I kissed her lips with a gentle kiss. She stirred and purred softly. I thought she was going to wake up but she remained sleeping.

I slowly got off the bed and then went to the washroom to do my morning routines. When I finished, I went out of the room and was about to call the kitchen staff to ask them to deliver our breakfast in our cottage but an idea popped up on my head.

I looked at the clock. It was still 6:10 am so I went out of the cottage and went to the kitchen of the resort. I decided to cook a breakfast for my family. I couldn't help but to feel happy while cooking the fried rice. I knew that Ellie loves fried rice and it's been so long since the last time that I cooked this dish for her.

After I finished cooking the fried rice, I fried sausages and eggs too. I also saw ripe mangoes in the fridge so I made a mango juice too.

When I finally finished cooking, I took the food that I prepared at the cottage.

When I opened the door, the happy face of Rexus greeted me. He was watching TV with his nanny Faye. He looked like he was enjoying what he's watching because he looked cheerful. This is the difference between the twins.

Rexus is always smiling even if he just woke up while Avellie usually has tantrums early in the morning especially if she didn't see her mother right away.

"Good morning, chiquito. Good morning, Faye" I greeted them. Faye greeted me back.

"Good morning too, daddy. Where have you been?" Rexus asked while eyeing the service cart that I was pushing.

"I cooked breakfast for us, chiquito" his face brightened.

"Really, daddy? Wow, I want to taste it" he said excitedly. I ruffled his hair.

"Of course, you will taste it, chiquito. Anyway, where is your sister?" I asked while looking around for my daughter. Even Ellie was nowhere to be found. Maybe she's still inside our room, sleeping. Looks like she really got worn out last night. I mentally shook my head while my lips stretched with a smile.

"She's still sleeping, daddy" I heard Rexus answered.

"Okay. I'll wake her up later. I'll just put our food at the table" I was about to push the service cart towards the dining table when Faye stood up and then spoke.

"Let me do it, Mr. Valiente so that you can go and wake up Avellie. Maybe she would be happy if you're the one who'd wake her up. She'll cry for sure if I'd be the one to do it" she said. She's right.

I thanked her and then went to the kids' room. To my surprise, Avellie was already awake. Just like usual, she's holding her blue blanket. She doesn't really use that blanket. She just hold it during bedtime. Ellie told me that Avellie had been using that blanket since she was still a baby but until now, she couldn't let go of it. She couldn't even sleep without it.
