ELLIE's POV

Because I didn't want to get into a heated conversation with Rex again, I gave in and just let him drive and I was a little bit worried that he might really tell papy that I snuck his car out and even drove it myself. That rule might be a little too much to other people considering that I'm already old enough to drive but this rule also applied to Regan and Angela before so I couldn't really complain.

The silence was deafening because nobody dared opening a conversation while we're on our way. But that made me feel relieve considering that he would say things that could make me feel annoyed anyway.

I kept on secretly throwing him a glance from time to time but he has this unreadable expression on his face the whole time.

I couldn't help but to stared at him longer. He's really handsome and oozing of sex appeal. Even though he was serious most of the time but that really doesn't mar his good looks. I mentally shook my head with the thought and then heaved a sigh.

With a face like his, he would surely pass as a model but I couldn't understand why he prefers working at the ranch.

I discreetly studied his physical looks. Yep, he looked handsome alright but I could tell that his muscular body was obviously because of hard work. His skin is tan because of staying under the sun on a daily basis.

"You know, you can look at me anytime you want, querida. Don't give yourself a hard time staring at me like that, trying to be discreet and all because honestly, you're too obvious" I didn't know if he was teasing me or not because he was serious but I could see the amusement in his eyes too.

I sneered at him and looked outside.

"Whatever" I mumbled with sarcasm. I heard him chuckle but decided to just ignore him.

After about 12 minutes or so, we arrived at our destination. Rex parked the car right in front of the big house and then immediately went out of the car. I saw him walked around the car and went to my side. He was about to open the door for me when I opened it myself.

"You should've let me be a gentleman and open the car for you, querida" I rolled my eyes.

"You're joking, right? You, a gentleman? I don't think so" I sarcastically answered and sidestepped him. I was about to walk towards the entrance of Céline's house when he spoke again.

"Well, at least I'm trying to be one because I thought you're a very delicate princess. I forgot that you're a brat and does whatever you want" I gasped and faced him, ready to yell angrily at him again when I lost my voice all of a sudden. How could I not? Our faces were almost touching now because when I turned around and faced him a second ago, he was right behind me. I knew he stepped closer to me on purpose judging by that playful smirk on his face.

I tried my best to gather myself together and put my hands against his chest in order to push him away from me. But he was so strong that I couldn't even manage to move him away from his spot.
