REX's POV

I kissed her forehead one more time before I got off of the bed and then put my clothes back on. I made sure not to create any noise so that I wouldn't wake her up and disturb her sleep once again. She needed to sleep to regain her strength. I couldn't help but to smile. I knew I tired her out after our lovemaking.

I stared at her sleeping face. She's sleeping peacefully and looked a lot different now; far from the troubled face she had a couple of hours ago.

She looked so relaxed and worry free.

I couldn't help but to feel happy. Just thinking about how much we love each other was enough to make me feel at ease with this problem that we need to face. It will surely test the foundation of our relationship and our love for each other but I know that we'll be fine. We can make through all these problems for sure.

I whispered how much I loved her before I stealthily strode my way towards the terrace. Thankfully, there was a big tree which has a big branch that almost touches the railing of the terrace. It was a convenient way for me to come up here without everyone inside the house noticing me.

This was my first time sneaking inside the house and it was because I knew that Ellie needed me beside her. I didn't want to sneak inside because it felt kinda wrong but being with Ellie was my priority, especially that she was crying when she called me.

I carefully surveyed the area first to make sure that nobody was around. I carefully climbed down the tree and then quietly ran towards the gate. I sighed in relief when I finally managed to get out without anyone seeing me.

I felt like a teenager sneaking inside his girlfriend's house just to see her without her parents' knowledge and it didn't feel right at all.

I wanted to talk to Mr. Novell directly to tell him that Ellie's my girlfriend and voice out my opposition about that fixed marriage. If only everything would be that easy.

I don't want them to marry her off to that guy but I didn't want to do something without consulting Ellie first. I wanted her to be the one to make the first move into revealing our relationship to her family.

I wasn't sure if they would accept me as her boyfriend when that day comes but I would do anything to make that happen. When I arrived in my place, I quickly took a bath and then after that, I cooked myself a breakfast.

After eating, I washed the dishes and went out to begin my work. The weather was nice but too sunny so I made sure to bring a bottle of water with me.

There was a lot of work that I didn't even notice that it was almost lunch time already.

"Rex, aren't you going to take a break and eat your lunch?" Henry, one of my co-workers asked me.

"We still have 5 minutes" He laughed and then shook his head.

"You're such a hard worker and that's a good trait but you shouldn't overdo it. Just leave it there. You can continue doing that later. Anyway, we're going to my cousin Sabina's house for lunch. It's her birthday and she wants us to go there. Come and join us" I knew Sabina because her dad works at the ranch too. At first, we just exchanged greetings each time we saw each other but we gradually became closer as time goes by.
