ELLIE's POV

After I finished the movie I was watching, I went out of my room and ate lunch. After that, I felt bored and went to the porch and then called Céline. She's been my friend since we were young. They owned the ranch near Claudette ranch, which is my grandparents' ranch. Theirs was located at the southern part.

Every vacation, we get to be together. We played together when we were children. Even though there were other children who came to play with us siblings before, she was the closest to me.

"Ellie! How have you been? It's been a while" Céline said which made me smile. I've missed her.

"I'm fine. Can we meet? I'm bored here" She chuckled.

"I can't come over there right now because I am a little bit busy here. But you can come over if you want"

"Sure. I'll be there in 30 minutes" I said and ended the call. I stood up and went upstairs to my room. I changed my clothes and then tied my hair into a ponytail and wore flat sandals. I didn't bother putting make up on just applied a lip gloss on my lips.

After prepping myself, I went downstairs and got in my papy's car. I opened the door and was about to get inside when someone spoke behind me. I almost jumped in surprise.

"Where are you going?" I looked at the direction of the person who spoke and I suddenly felt annoyed upon seeing him. He was leaning against the wall while looking at me with an unreadable face.

"It's none of your business" I retorted and turned my back on him. I got inside the car and was about to close the door when he stopped me by putting his hand on the door handle and prevented me from closing it.

"What's your problem?" I almost yelled at him. He was beginning to get on my nerves again.

"Your grandfather told me to look after you for a while. He told me not to let you go out without me with you so whether you like it or not, I'll come with you" I scowled at him.

"You're kidding me right? You, looking after me? No! I'm sure papy's just being paranoid. You don't need to do it because I don't need you to. Just go back to your duties" I tried closing the door again but he still didn't let me. Of course, I tried to pull the door with more force this time but because of the fact that he's stronger than me, I didn't succeed.

"What the hell is your problem?!" He smirked.

"I am not going to take orders from you. Your grandfather is my boss and his instruction is for me to guard you while that person who attempted to rape someone at the farm is still on the loose" He looked like he was playing with me but I could see the seriousness in his eyes. They're like telling me that I couldn't win against him. But the stubborn as I was, I insisted on what I wanted.

"No! I already told you, I don't need you to guard me!" His expression changed and his face hardened.

"Don't be a brat and just follow what your grandfather wants" I gritted my teeth and met his gaze bravely. He's now wearing a poker face but I saw a hint of amusement in his eyes before it disappeared just like that.

I was about to oppose further when he suddenly walked around the car and went to the other side. He opened the passenger door and got inside without my consent.
