Jason's POV
I walked to class after talking to Cereza. I can't wait till homecoming. I get to touch her, hold her, and dance with her.

I can't deny that I have feelings for her. She's so gorgeous and she's the sweetest girl. I wish I told her how I felt yesterday when we got out of school. Carrying her was the best feeling ever. Hell, just having her in my arms was the best feeling ever.

It's like she was made to fit in my arms. All can think about is Cereza.

BUZZ BUZZ
FROM PENELOPE:
"When's the last time you heard from Cereza?" She asked.

"Last I saw her, she was at her locker getting something for class. I would have thought she made it in by now." I texted back.

"Yeah, I would have thought so too. This is the latest she's ever been." Penelope texted.

Okay, a little worried, but not too much.

"Do you think we should go looking for her?" I asked.

"Sure. I can't leave class right now though, but you can try." She texted.

"Mr. Ester! Could I get step out of class for a moment?" I asked. Although, I was really going to swing by Cereza's locker to see if she's okay.

"No." He said. "Why not?" I ask. "Because I said so!" He yelled at me.

I was taken aback. The fuck was that for?

I really need to see if Cereza is okay. I look at the clock. Okay, 15 minutes left.

"You know Mr. Brown, staring at the clock isn't going to make class go any faster. Get back to work, now!" Mr. Ester said rudely.

"Yo, Mr. Ester don't start this 'being rude' shit." One of my class friends, Leon said.

"You always do this shit Mr. Ester. What the fuck is your problem with us?" He continued.

"My problem is people like you!" He yelled. He slapped is hands over is mouth as if he wasn't supposed to say that.

"What do you mean by 'people like you'?" I ask. "Nothing! Uh, go back to working class. Excuse me for moment." He said walking out the classroom.

I turn to Leon.

"What the fuck did he mean by "people like you?" All I wanted to do was step out for a minute. It's not like I do this every day." I said.

"You know what? I think Mr. Ester has a problem with people of color. He always got some smart shit to say." Another classmate of mine, Marcus said. I think this is Penelope's boyfriend.

"That would explain the dirty looks he gives every mixed or black person or anyone else with a certain color of skin in this school." Leon said.

"We gotta do something about that. That shit ain't cool." I said.

RING!!!!

Great, just in time. I gotta tell Cereza the bullshit that happened in class today. As I walk down the hall, I hear, "Cereza! Stay awake for me! Please!"

That's Penelope!

I run towards her voice and I see a crowd of people. Shit. I knew I should have been here sooner.

"Hey! Move over! Come on, let me through!" I shout as I push through the crowd.

What I saw made my heart shatter. I saw Cereza on the floor past out. She had bruises on her wrist, face, and upper thighs. She also had tear stains like she was crying. Who did this to her?

"Penelope, what happened?" I asked.

"I don't know what happened, I tried asking, but she couldn't tell me who did it. She just kept stuttering." She says crying. Her and Cereza must be very close because she's crying like her sister died. "I had just came out of class and she was on the floor crying and shaking. I tried to help her up, but then she fainted." She cried.
