Diana's POV
After waking Kingston up, we followed the nurse to a more private room.
I was so never nervous to hear what the nurse had to say. Now mind you, Jason told me about what happened, but that doesn't mean we know all that's wrong with her. Cereza passing out could have led to something else happening.
"Just wait in here, I'll go get the doctor." The nurse said leaving the room.
Once the nurse left the room, I turned to Roxianne. "Okay, what do you think is really wrong with Cereza?" I asked.
"Well, to be completely honest, I think we got an extreme case of magical exhaustion. When I was speaking with her she said she was attacked, but she didn't mention any injuries." Roxianne said.
"Yeah, I thought so." I sighed. "I think Cereza should be okay, but let's listen to what the doctor has to say in case there's something else wrong with her." I said.
"Agreed." Roxianne and Kingston said simultaneously.
Suddenly, there's a knock on the door. "Hello everyone. Family of Cereza Sparks?" The person asked.
"Yes." I answered. "Hi, I'm Dr. Pruitt. I'll be Cereza's doctor during her stay here." He said holding out his hand for us to shake.
"Hello Doctor." I said shaking his hand. "So, who we got tonight?" He asked.
"Well I'm Diana, this is Kingston, Cereza's father, and this is Roxianne, my sister and Cereza aunt." I said.
"Nice to meet you all." Dr. Pruitt said. "So, let's get down to business, it's good Cereza got here when she did or else there would have been some issues."
"Why? What did you find?" Roxianne asked.
"Well, it looks like her body has been through some very serious trauma. This is actually the most extreme case of exhaustion displayed by the human body I've ever seen. When I looked at Cereza, she was taking very short breaths and her heart rate was very low. She also had paling of the skin, and not to mention the bruising." The doctor said.
"Oh God." I say stunned.
"I have good news for you all, she is going to be fine. We're really worried about her, so we're gonna keep her for a couple days, but for right now she just needs a lot of rest. We've moved her to a better room on the fourth floor. You'll be able to see her soon. In the mean time, you should go home and get some rest." Dr. Pruitt said.
"Thank you Doctor. Do you know when exactly we'll be able to see her?" I ask.
"Visiting hours are form 9:00AM to 9:00PM, so you'll be able to see her then. If you like, I can extend that time for you guys. I can tell you all are extremely worried." He said.
"Thank you so much Doctor, we are." Kingston said standing up.
"You're welcome sir." Dr. Pruitt said shaking Kingston's hand and then leaving the room.
"We might as well listen to him and get some sleep." I said.
"Can I stay at your place? I'm too tired to use magic to get home." Roxianne said. "Of course, you can stay. You already know Annabella is staying." I said.
"I didn't even think she thought of leaving." Roxianne joked.
"I better go tell Jason about Cereza." I said.
I walked back out to the waiting room. I spotted Jason in his same seat. He had his hand over his eyes and his leg was bouncing up and down.
I know he cares so much about Cereza. Hell, I think actually really loves her. Like, not that "high school lovers" crap, he's in that "I want to be with you for the rest of our lives" kind of love. It's heartwarming.
