Different

From the beginning of my life

I knew I was different

I was never comfortable in wearing dresses and skirts

Always comfortable in sweatpants and sweatshirts

No heels, always sneakers

My parents put me in dance but I'd rather be in hockey

They don't understand that I'm not comfortable being who they want me to be

I have always been different

And I want to change

But this is all new, my kind of people aren't respected for who they are or what they want to be

There will always be those stereotypes

Of what people have to be

But I am different and I always will be

No one can make me be anyone else but me!
