Thursday
"Why are you up this early?" Tanner groaned from his bed. I laughed at him from his bathroom and walked out. "Today is Dylan's surgery and I said I would be there," I told him. Tanner nodded and yawned. "I'll text you," I said and leaned down to kiss him. "Promise?" He smiled. "Promise," I nodded and walked out of his room and to my car. I drove myself to the hospital and parked in the parking garage. I grabbed my phone to see if I had any messages.

I miss you already.
I smiled at my phone and got out of my car. I walked up to the hospital and saw Karen outside. "Hi," I smiled. "Hey Lindsey. I didn't know you were coming. He's inside waiting," she pointed. I smiled and went inside. I looked around the waiting room and saw Dylan looking down at his phone. "What's up loser?" I sat next to him. "Hey," he smiled weakly. "What's wrong?" I furrowed my brows. "I'm nervous for this surgery," he sat back. "Don't be Dylan. They do this stuff all the time. There's nothing to worry about," I put my hand on his arm. "Thank you," he smiled. I nodded and the doctor called Dylan back into the room. The surgery would take a while, so I left to get a drink from Dunkin. For the remainder of the time, I talked to Tanner and played games on my phone. "Mrs. Mitchell," the doctor came out. Karen stood up and talked to the doctor for a little bit. "He said we can go see him. He's just a little loopy from the meds," she told me. I nodded and followed her back into the rooms. "Hi honey. How are you feeling?" She cooed to her son. "It hurts," he groaned. I hated seeing people like this, but I promised Dylan I would stay with him. "Lindsey come here," he waved me over. I walked over and I sat on the edge of the bed. "Mom can I talk to Lindsey alone?" He slurred. She looked at him skeptically and walked out anyway. "Hi," he whispered. "Hey," I giggled. "I'm glad you're here," he closed his eyes. "I promised you," I nodded. "Thank you," He smiled and slightly opened his eyes. "You're my everything," Dylan said after a moment of silence. "What?" I asked. "Lindsey Riley Miller. You are my everything and I love you," he smiled weakly. "Dylan we're just friends, remember?" I laughed nervously. "Well you're just friends. I'm not," he told me. Karen walked back into the room with the nurse. "How are you feeling bud? Do you want some water?" The nurse asked checking his machines. "I'm gonna go. I'll call you later Dylan," I nodded and said goodbye to Karen. I got into my car and punched the steering wheel. What was Dylan saying? He knows we are just friends. I drove myself back to Quentin's house and knocked on the front door. "Lindsey, hey. How'd Dylan's surgery go?" Quentin asked as I walked in. "Good," I shrugged. "What's wrong?" He grabbed my arm. "He said I was his everything," I choked and felt a tear slip. Quentin pulled me in for a hug and I sobbed into his shirt. "I'm kind of dating Tanner by the way," I looked up at him. "I know," he nodded and rubbed my back. "What do I do?" I sighed and stepped away from him. "Don't talk to him until he's off the meds. He'll be back in his right state of mind by then. If he says it again, you know he means it and that is when you need to tell him about you and Tanner," Quentin explained. I nodded and plopped on his bed. "My friend is coming over in a few minutes," Quentin said moving things around. "The girl?" I sat up. He nodded and I smirked. "Don't give me that look," he laughed. "What's her name?" I ushered. "Lindsey," He looked at me. "Oh we have the same name?" I smirked. "No. Get out," he laughed and shoved me out. "Why don't you want me to know her name?" I laughed and moved so he wasn't pushing me anymore. "Because I don't know if it's working out yet. Goodbye Lindsey," he said quickly and shoved me towards my car. "Quentin," I laughed and turned to him. "I'm not letting it go," I pointed in his face. "I am," he pointed at mine. "Come on," I rolled my eyes. "No Lindsey," he groaned and held his laughter. "Come on," I poked his side. "Don't do that," he poked my side back. We started poking each other. "Umm Quentin," a voice said from beside us. "Breanna," Quentin said and took his hand off my side. "Breanna," I smiled at Quentin and walked over to her. "Hi. I'm his best friend, Lindsey," I smiled and stuck my hand out. "I'm Breanna. It's nice to meet you," She grinned and shook my head. "Okay. Bye Lindsey," Quentin put his arm around her and pulled her towards the house. "Wait, why don't you stay?" Breanna turned to me. Quentin looked at me and shook his head. "No, it's okay. I have to get back to my boyfriend," I told her. "Oh who's your boyfriend?" She asked. "Tanner Braungardt," I smiled. "Oh. Isn't that your friend?" Breanna asked looking up at Quentin. "Mhm," Quentin nodded. "Well I should be leaving," I told them. They said goodbye and went inside. Once I got in the car, I decided to drive home instead of going anywhere else. "Hi honey. I didn't know you'd be home today. I thought you were at the hospital with Dylan," My mom said when I came inside. I looked at the man and boy on our couch. "Dylan's surgery is done," I said. "Did everything work out?" She asked politely. "Mhm," I nodded and the boy kept looking at me. "Lindsey, this is AJ Cunnings and his step son, Cameron," My mom introduced me. "Hi," I waved and started to go upstairs. "Lindsey please. Stay down here while we have guests," My mom ushered. I rolled my eyes without anyone seeing and sat in the living room. "The name is Cameron Dallas," the boy smirked and sat next to me. "Lindsey," I moved away. "Nice to meet you," he smiled and moved closer to me. "I have a boyfriend," I told him. "Congrats," he smirked. I rolled my eyes and looked at the time. "Mom, can I leave?" I asked. "Lindsey," She yelled at me. "I need to go to Tanner's," I told her. "Whatever," she rolled her eyes. I went upstairs to pack a bag and there was a knock on my door. "What mom?" I asked. "It's me," Cameron smirked opening the door. "Get out," I sighed and continued packing. I closed my bag and pushed past Cameron. "Get your son out of my room," I scoffed to the man in my living room. My mom stood up and I was already outside and in my car. I walked into Tanner's house and everyone asked me how the surgery went. After talking to Kim, I walked downstairs and Tanner was walking out of his bathroom. "Hey," he smiled. "Hi," I said and threw myself on his bed. "That much fun, huh?" He laughed and sat on the edge of the bed. I picked my head up and his back was facing me. I put my head back down and took a deep breath. I felt a weight on me and Tanner was sitting on me. "Tanner get your fat butt off of me," I groaned. He pretended to be hurt and sat up anyway. "Lay down," I told him. "What?" He said looking taken back. "Lay down," I repeated. He hesitantly laid down and I put my head on his chest and cuddled up next to him. He took a deep breath and let it go. "Are you okay?" I looked up at him. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?" He smiled. I sat up and furrowed my brows. He sat up after me and ran his fingers through his hair. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I said nothing," he lightly laughed and started to get up. I quickly grabbed his hand. "Tanner," I whispered. He looked back at me. "You can trust me," I whispered. He must've noticed the tears in my eyes because he sat down and took my hands in his. "I do trust you. More than anyone else Lindsey," he told me. "Then what's wrong?" I asked him. "It's just...I know you aren't a virgin and I am. I feel like you want me to do this and I can't. And being a 17 year old virgin is not the ideal guy for most girls," he looked down. "Tanner, I am not most girls. I do not expect anything from you. If you wanted to do that, then okay. If you don't, then whatever. I really do not care," I explained to him. He nodded and sighed. I lifted his head and kissed him on the lips.
Tanner's POV
"Okay I'll text you," I smiled and kissed Lindsey as she walked to her car. I watched her drive away then closed the front door. I turned around and my mom was smirking in the kitchen. "What's that face for?" I asked walking into the kitchen. "You guys are cute," she smiled. "Thanks mom," I blushed. "Ooo Tanner is blushing," Taylor poked my cheeks. "Stop," I rolled my eyes and ate a forkful of Taylor's ramen noodles. "Hey," she smacked me. I laughed and walked over to help my mom clean. "So mom," I sighedputting one of the dishes in the sink. "So Tanner," she mocked me. "Can I throw a party here in like 3 weeks?" I asked hesitantly. "For?" She asked. "Lindsey's 17th birthday," I turned to her. "Okay," she shrugged. "Thank you! I'll start inviting people. It is going to be a surprise party," I smiled and ran to my room.
