Getting to Know Each Other

-Carrie’s Coffee Shop-

-Santana’s (POV)-

Dani and I enter the coffee shop she won the race. We are standing in line waiting to order. When we get to the counter we are greeted by Bethany.

Bethany: Hi what can I get you?

Dani: I will have the double mocha Frappuccino.

Bethany: All right and what about you?

Santana: Oh I’ll have the white chocolate peppermint Frappuccino.

Bethany: Is that everything?

Dani looks at me.

Dani: Do you want to split a muffin or something?

Santana: Sure.

Dani: Can I get a double chocolate chip muffin?

Bethany: Of course is that everything?

Dani: Yes.

Bethany: Okay that will be six fifty please.

I go to pay for it but I’m stopped by Dani’s hand on mine.

Dani: I got it.

Santana: Are you sure?

Dani: Yes I’m sure.

Santana: Okay thank you.

Dani: You’re welcome.

Dani pays for the coffees and muffin. When we get our coffees and the muffin we sit at a table by the window.

Santana: So what classes are you taking at NYU?

Dani: I’m taking a music class, writing class, and a math class.

Santana: What are you going to school for?

Dani takes some of the muffin and puts it in her mouth.

Dani: I want to teach people how to play guitar and piano.

Santana: That’s cool.

Dani: Yeah. What about you are you going to school or anything?

Santana: Um, not yet but I do plan on going to NYADA so I can take their dance program.

I take some of the muffin and eat it.

Dani: You like to dance?

Santana: Oh I love to dance I used to do it all the time but I kind of lost my way.

Dani: I completely understand losing your way. I was writing songs and stuff but I kind of gave up on it.

Santana: You wrote songs?

Dani: Yeah I wrote a few.

Santana: Do you think that I could hear one someday?

She looks at me and smiles.

Dani: Of course I could always use a second opinion.

Santana: Awesome.

Dani: Yeah. Do you like flowers?

Santana: Yes I love them. Do you?

Dani: It depends on who gets them for me.

Santana: What if a girlfriend gave them to you?

Dani: Than I would love them. What kind of flowers do you like?

Santana: Roses. What about you?

Dani: I like sunflowers.

Santana: Cool.

Dani: Yeah.

Dani and I continue to talk and ask questions for a while. I don’t know how long it was but I hear a voice that I know too well.

Brittany: Sanny?

I look over and see Brittany walking up to us.

Santana: Hey Britt.

Brittany: Who is this?

Dani: I’m Danielle but people call me Dani.

Dani extends her hand Brittany shakes it and smiles.

Brittany: I’m Brittany but some people call me Britt. Are you guys on a date?

Dani: No we are just friends and co-workers.

Brittany: Oh that’s cool.

Dani: Mhm.

Santana: What are you doing in New York?

Brittany: Oh Trish and I are visiting her parents.

Santana: Oh you and Trish are…together?

Brittany: Yeah.

Santana: Well that’s…that’s great.

I clear my throat.

-Dani’s (POV)-

I can tell that Santana is hurt I feel so sorry for her here is her ex-girlfriend and she finds out that she is with someone else.

Brittany: Yeah she’s really nice but she can never take your place.

Dani: Of course she can’t I mean Santana was your first love and you can never forget your first love.

Brittany: That is true.

Dani: Yeah. So you are form Ohio as well?

Brittany: Yeah.

Dani: Cool.

Brittany’s phone goes off she takes it out of her pocket and looks at it.

Brittany: I have to go Trish is waiting for me it was nice meeting you Dani and it was good seeing you Santana.

Santana doesn’t say anything she just nods and smiles Brittany walks off.

I was going to post this sooner but I kind of got caught up with some things. *Leave Comments*
