I wish I could finally say goodbye,
Then turn and walk away...
The clouds would instantly clear above my head —
The sky no longer perpetually gray"Just leave," I've said, so many, many times...
But my fear and resistance
Always made reason and happiness
Far too hard to findSome call me stupid for staying,
While others call me brave...
Yet I've never been anything more
Than a glorified slaveFault, blame, and pity
Wear what's left of me away —
And soon I fear there will be nothing here,
Except the shame that I convey.
