I waited for you,
but you never came.
I waited outside,
alone in the rain.
I waited in the cold,
just hoping you were lost.
I waited and waited...
though you could never imagine the cost.
I wanted to come and find you,
so many, many times...
But I was far too afraid,
even though I had rehearsed my lines.
In my mind, you'll always be the one
I could never have, but always wanted...
Thus my heart will be
forever vacant and haunted.
