Broken in half...
Broken in two...
It doesn't matter
Because this is all
That's left of youSure, it's sad when a broken thing
Cannot be repaired —
Yet we just cast it away,
Never to be sparedYou've swept up the pieces
Many, many times...
Thinking there's a lot less guilt
In committing that crimeBut a crime against one's self
Is a bitter pill to swallow —
So you lay down in your filthy sorrow...
Content to always wallowKnowing that nothing ever comes from this,
But broken resolution —
Broken dreams
Broken hope
Broken home
Broken heart
Broken soulThis vicious, never-ending cycle
Is all that's ever unbroken —So you end up in this broken reality...
A life not worth living,
Nor ever having been lived —
AbsenteeYou wearily sigh another day
Knowing that each beat
Of your broken heart
Counts your failures,
And embarrassing defeat.
