everett
after his suicide attempt, after the months at the clinic, his mom wanted a caretaker to go with him to julliard. he had retained most of his memory, but there were the little things that he had kept forgetting, like where his keys were or what day it was. sometimes, however, he would forget to do things like eat.
so his mother hired fiona.
she would move in to help take care of him, remind him of things, make sure he was healthy.
at first, everett hated her. he hated that he was an adult that needed a girl only a couple of years older than him to look after him like he was a child.
yet they had gotten used to each other. after a year, their bond had moved from a professional relationship to a friendship.
everett liked the routine, liked that he was used to her. she helped him remain grounded, helped him be his anchor because she had became his routine too.
they had started dating shortly after, on a warm summer day when the fireworks were soaring in the sky, and sparklers twirling in the hands of children.
it had takes seven months of their relationship for everett to realize that he didn't love her. he was in love with the idea of her. the idea that she would always be there to look after him, the idea that she was something he had grown accustomed to.
aidan had changed things all over again, but he can't use that as an excuse.
