Annabelle's POV

.

"Okay, what's up?" He asked as we sat down at his small kitchen table with eggs and bacon. This was it. My heart was pounding in my chest. What if Liam didn't want to be my friend anymore? I didn't have many friends and Liam was truly an incredible person. I had to take a chance though, Liam had saved me and he deserved to know.

"Liam, please don't hate me after I tell you this but-"

"Wait wait, hold up. Why would I hate you?" He asked, looking concerned. I smiled down at my plate of eggs and looked up at him. He looked rather dashing, sitting in the sun light. He was in sweatpants and a t-shirt, with his hair fluffed up on the top of his head. He smiled at me and reached for my hand. He rubbed my hand with his thumb.

"You can tell me anything Annabelle Jacobson and I would never think anything less of you." He said while smiling.

"Well wait. Are you an ex-convict?" He asked while smirking at me. Despite the situation I began to laugh.

"No. No ex-convict here."

"Okay, I'm ready." He said while sitting up right in his chair.

"Okay well... Uh... This isn't easy for me to say and no one knows about it except me and Spencer.

"Alright?"

"Spencer. He really isn't that nice of a person. He... Uh... He..." I tried to spit it out, but couldn't. My eyes welled up with tears again. Liam looked at me with gentle, kind eyes.

"Hey, It's alright." He said while getting up and wiping my tears from my cheeks.

"Do you think we'd be more comfortable on the couch?" He asked. I nodded my head in response. I sat straight up on the couch.

"Okay. So Spencer..."

"Right. Spencer... He's... uh... he's... Beating me. Spencer is beating me." I said quietly. I squeezed my eyes shut not knowing what would happen. After a few moments I opened my eyes to see Liam, with a look of horror and sadness.

"Spencer's beating you?"

"Yes."

"How long has this been going on?"

"Uh about a year and a half. Liam I'm really sorry. It really is my fault. It truly is. He-"

"Annabelle! You can not possibly think this is your own fault?"

"Why wouldn't it be?" He looked at me with the same horror and sad look, but it soon turned into anger.

"He made you think this was your fault!?" He said through gritted teeth. He suddenly stood up and grabbed his coat.

"Where are you going?" I asked him.

"To find that little scum bag! Where does Spencer live?"

"Liam no please don't! It'll just make everything worse." I said while grabbing his arm. He had his back to me with his hand on the doorknob.

"Liam. Come sit back down." I said while grabbing his hand. He turned around and I saw his cheeks were stained with tears. A sob escaped his mouth before he said,

"He beat you Annabelle. He beat you. He messed with your mind and made you believe that it was your fault! It's not your fault Annabelle. It's really truly not. Anna you are perfect in every single way! Your hair falls perfectly on your face." He said while touching my hair.

"And your personally is just... I can't even describe it. It's incredible! And you're just so beautiful! And Spencer took you for granted! He... he's a scum bag and a cheat and a liar! And I just want to go kill him!" Liam said while getting worked up.

"And I should've seen the signs. You're not clumsy at all. You didn't fall down the stairs. He beat you. He told you to tell everyone that didn't he? This is all my fault!" He said while putting his head into his hands.

"Liam, hey, it's not your fault." I said while taking his hands in mine. He then pulled me into a hug.

"I'm so so sorry Anna." He said into my shoulder.

"Another thing Annabelle. You have soft skin too." He said while chuckling.

"Anna can I ask you something?" He said pulling back from me.

"Yeah sure."

"Do you love him?" I paused and thought about the answer for a little bit.

"No." I finally replied. A smile creeped onto his face.

"Good. Then I can do this and not feel guilty." He then leaned down and kissed me. His lips were soft and warm. He pulled back and rested his forehead on mine.

"I've wanted to know what it's like to kiss you since the first day I meet you." He said while smiling.

"You're beautiful Annabelle Jacobson. Don't let some scum bag tell you any different." He said before kissing me again.
