Liam's POV
.
"Thank you for flying US airways. We will be landing in Wolverhampton in the next few minutes. Please stay seated at all times during the landing process. Once again thank you for flying US airways and happy travels." Little did that air hostess know that this was not a "happy travel" experience.
"Aren't you happy to be back Liam?" My mum asked me.
"Kind've." I murmured, sitting back in my chair with my arms crossed.
The plane landed and we finally got off. After a straight flight from Georgia to Wolverhampton I was ready for some relaxing time. My mum drove us to our new apartment with a rental car until we could get a new one.
"I'm not used to driving on this side of the road anymore!" My mum said cheerfully.
"You'll get used to it again, Karen." My dad said. As soon as we pulled up to the apartment complex I saw a girl sitting outside on a bench.
"Annabelle." I whispered. I quickly jumped out of the car. I ran over to her as fast as I could. My heart went into my throat and my mouth went dry.
"Annab- oh I'm sorry. I thought you were somebody else." I said, disappointed.
"It's alright. I'm Jessica." She said, sticking her hand out.
"I'm Liam." I said while I shook her hand. The resemblance was amazing. Jessica had the same shade of blonde hair and hair length as Annabelle and was the exact same height. She was just as gorgeous as Annabelle was.
"Can I ask why you're staring at me?"
"I'm sorry. You just remind me of someone." I said smiling, thinking of Annabelle.
"You must be fond of her? I can tell by your smile."
"I am very fond of her." I said, getting an even bigger smile on my face.
"Well whose this?" My mum said from behind my shoulder.
"This is Jessica. Jessica this is my mum, Karen."
"Nice to meet you Karen and please call me Jess." I froze as I remember Annabelle saying, 'Anna. Please call me Anna."
"Do you live near here Jess?"
"Yeah, I actually live in apartment 14A." She said while pointing up to the building.
"Really? We live in apartment 15A."
"I guess you're the new people moving in today. Can I help you with anything?"
"You could help us with some boxes, yeah?"
"Sure." We all went over to the rental car and grabbed some boxes. Jessica lead us up a flight of stairs and down a long hallway.
"Apartment 15A. Does it matter where I set this?"
"Not at all love." My mum said, smiling.
"Now Liam I know it's small, but we'll just be here until we can get back into the swing of things."
"So where did you move from?" Jess asked.
"America." My mum answered.
"Wow! You must be exhausted! I'll let you guys settle in. It was nice meeting you!"
"You too Jess! I guess we'll be seeing you around."
"I guess so! If you need anything just holler." She said as she left.
"What a lovely girl! Wouldn't you think so Liam?"
"I guess so."
"You should ask her out."
"What?"
"You haven't had a girlfriend in a long time, Liam. It's worth a try."
"Mum, no."
"Well why not?"
"Because I'm not over Annabelle."
"That silly girl? C'mon Liam. It's time for a change."
"That girl was not silly to me!" A silence filled the room after I said it.
"The moving truck just pulled up. I'm going to help your father. Just think about it." She said breaking the silence and before leaving me alone in the apartment. I sat down on the floor in the empty living room. Maybe it was time for me to forget about Annabelle. She had clearly forgotten about me. I could see that night I crept over to her house. She had dumped me and that was it. I got up and walked across the hall to apartment 14A and knocked on the door.
