Annabelle's POV
.
I woke up in someone's arms with my head pounding.
"Where am I?" I whispered, not opening my eyes.
"You're safe now, Annabelle. That's all that matters." Someone said before kissing my head. I suddenly opened my eyes and shot out of the bed. I was in complete shock as I suddenly recognized his voice. I was breathing heavy as I said,
"L-liam? W-what are you... How are you.." I began crying before I could finish a sentence. He got out of bed and walked over to me. He stood before me and said,
"I missed you. So, I came back. I love you, Annabelle."
"I-I love you t-too, Liam." I said. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back into bed. He covered us up and put his arms around me.
"I love you, Annabelle." He whispered into my ear before kissing it.
"Liam, p-please don't ever let me go again. I was such an idiot. I thought I was protecting you. I was scared that you were going to get hurt if you stayed here. I n-need you, Liam. Please don't leave me alone. I love you so so much." I was full out bawling now. I was confused about why and how Liam was here, but I didn't care. He was back, he was holding me, he loved me, and that's all that mattered.
"I'll never let you go, Annabelle Jacobson. Never again."
"Liam how did you get here?"
"A plane."
"I assumed that you goof ball." I said as I began to calm down. He chuckled before saying,
"I had a friend in Wolverhampton. She said she could see it in my eyes that there was someone else that I loved. I told her there was and she gave me the advice to wait until I was 18 and then move back to America. So, that's what I did."
"You're here to stay?"
"Yes I am. I just signed back up for school today." He pulled me closer and kissed my head.
"Annabelle, I was a fool to let you go. I should've fought harder to stay here with you. Now that I see you I-I..." He couldn't finish the sentence before he began to cry.
"Liam, what's wrong?"
"I failed you. I mean look at yourself. Y-you're covered in b-bruises. You thought you were dreaming because of how much blood you lost. You were walking back from Spencer's weren't you? H-he did this to you."
"Yes, but please don't be mad at me. I-I tried to fight him off. Finally, he told me I should go." I said quietly.
"Annabelle, I would never ever be mad at you for something Spencer did. I'm mad at myself. I told you I was going to protect you and I failed. I'm so sorry Annabelle." He wouldn't even look at me out of shame.
"Look at me, Liam. This is not your fault. Even if you would've been here you couldn't have stopped him. I know you don't want to hear that, but it's the truth. All that matters right now is this moment. We're here together, It's just you and me."
"You're not mad at me for failing?"
"Liam, you did not fail. The situation is out of our control. Of course I'm not mad at you."
"There's just so many." He said, pulling the blankets off of us and looking my body up and down.
"It just breaks my heart."
"I know." I said as I covered us back up.
"Annabelle, what were you doing on my lawn earlier?"
"Well, I was walking home from Spencer's and we had kinda gotten into it, as you can tell, and I saw lights on in your house and I thought you must've sold it to someone. So I just sat down on the grass and started remembering everything. I was just so sad and tired so I laid down and began to cry and that's when you came out. Everything just seemed so fuzzy that I thought I was dreaming. I felt you pick me up, but then I blacked out. I'm assuming it was from exhaustion/ blood loss."
"Do you feel better now?"
"Kinda. I'm really sore and I'm a bit hungry."
"What! My precious Annabelle's hungry? Well we better fix that right now!" He got out of bed and slowly picked me up. I began to laugh as he carried me to his kitchen. He set me down on the floor.
"Well I have no furniture in here and I have no food." He said looking through the cupboards with a frown on his face. I got up from the floor and stood next to him.
"As long as I'm with you, it dosen't matter if there's no furniture or food." I said while I smiled up at him.
"I love you, Annabelle Jacobson." He said as he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.
"I love you too, Liam Payne."
"Annabelle, can I kiss you?" He asked while looking down at my lips and biting his.
"Yes." I whispered, inches away from his face. He slowly pressed his mouth to mine for a soft kiss that sent butterflies into my stomach.
