Liam's POV
.
I didn't want to look at Annabelle in fear that she would figure out something was wrong. I tried to avoid her all day, but I knew that after school we would be walking home together.
"Liam!" She called after me.
"Hey beautiful."
"First of all, I'm not beautiful and second of all, have you been avoiding me?" She asked me out of breath after she caught up to me.
"Not exactly... Look we need to talk."
"Can it wait until tomorrow?" She seemed tense as she said it.
"Um yeah I guess so. Or you could come over now and we could talk about it."
"Um now's not a good time." I stopped her in the middle of her tracks and put my hands on her shoulders before saying,
"Are you okay Annabelle?"
"Yeah! I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, positive." She said before giving me a smile.
"Alrighty then, shall we continue our walk?"
"We shall." She said. I reached down for her hand as we started to walk again. She pulled her hand back with a frightened look in her eyes.
"Sorry Annabelle I-" It was all I could say before her hand came up and smacked me on the cheek. It wasn't a very hard slap, but I was still confused.
"Don't ever try to touch me again!" She yelled at me before running the rest of the way to her house. I was shocked, but most importantly heartbroken. Had she changed her mind about us being together?
