Annabelle's POV

.

I heard something being pelted against my window at about 11 o'clock PM. I got out of bed to see what it was. I was in complete shock when I saw Liam standing below my window with tiny pebbles in his hands.

"Hey! I'm sorry if I woke you up." He yelled in a whispered tone.

"No it's alright. I was still awake." I whispered back. I quickly wiped my tears away so he wouldn't see I had been crying myself to sleep.

"Will you come down for a few minutes?" I knew I probably couldn't get down there without falling out of my second story window. I also didn't think it was a good idea for Liam and I to see each other at all, but I couldn't fight the urge.

"Uh I don't think I can get down there."

"Okay, hang on a sec." He whispered while he disappeared from my sight. He suddenly popped up in the middle of a tree next to my window. I hadn't noticed it before, but he was holding a picnic basket. I watched as he pulled himself up the rest of the tree. I could see his muscle bulging out and sweat beginning to form on his brow. I was extremely attracted. 'No Annabelle! You need to forget about him!' I couched myself out of the mindset. After he finished climbing up the tree he pulled himself into my window.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"I had to see you one last time before I left. So I thought why not throw pebbles at her window and bring a picnic basket as well." He seemed so calm. I, on the other hand, had my heart beating out of my chest.

"What's in the picnic basket?"

"Chocolate covered strawberries."

"Oh so now you're trying to be Troy Bolton are ya?" I said with a smirk on my face.

"You know for someone who dumped me you seem to be doing pretty well." He said quietly.

"Liam, I didn't dumped you. I'm protecting you from getting hurt."

"I rather have a broken arm then a broken heart." His words stung. I felt tears beginning to form. 'No Annabelle! Don't! He's just a silly boy!' I yelled at myself inside my head.

"So uh can we eat these things or what?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Yeah of course." I grabbed a blanket and laid it down. I sat down next to him, but left a fairly wide space between us. We both grabbed a strawberry and sat there in silence.

"Liam? Why are you really here?" I asked, not wanting to know the answer.

"Because I miss you and I wanted to make sure you were still as gorgeous as you were before. You still are, if you're wondering."

"Liam-"

"No, no. I had to see you again before I left. Now that schools out..." He trailed off not wanting to finish. I knew what he was eluding to, he was leaving tomorrow. I had been dreading it ever since school got out two days earlier.

"What are you going to do in the UK?"

"I'll start college and settle down somewhere." I knew that 'settling down' meant 'finding another girl.' "Oh." Was all I could say.

"Yup." He said. The strawberries were now gone and we sat there in silence.

"Well... Uh... I better get going." I didn't want him to leave. I didn't want him to be out of my life for good. I didn't want to believe that by tomorrow night he would be gone.

"Thanks for the strawberries."

"You're welcome." He said as he stood and climbed out the window.

"Liam?"

"Yeah?" He asked, hanging onto a tree branch.

"A Drop in the Ocean is my new favorite song."

"I'm glad. It reminds me of you and I. I really was hoping we'd end up together, Annabelle." I stood there speechless.

"I'm going to miss you Liam."

"I'm going to miss you too Annabelle." With one swift movement he was gone and out of my life forever.
