Chapter 26

Liam's POV

I didn't know what to do. I needed to tell Annabelle, but I just couldn't. I didn't want to break her heart and I didn't want her to lose her mind. I decided to try to talk to my parents and see if we could stay at least for the summer. It was May and school would be getting out in a month. It would start up again sometime in September and by then I'd be 18. I would stay here with Annabelle. I could get my own apartment and I could protect her, but would that really work? Was I ready to be a senior in high school with my own apartment, a job, and a girlfriend? I wasn't exactly sure.

I was walking through the hallway after fifth period when I suddenly heard someone shouting behind me.

"Hey British pants!" I turned around to see Spencer coming up behind me.

"Are you talking to me?"

"Yeah I am. Listen I'm gonna cut to the chase... If you try to touch my girlfriend ever again Liam Payne it'll be the last time you touch anybody. You understand me?" I was in complete shock. My mind clicked into place, Spencer Jones was threatening me. I had to stay cool though.

"Look mate, I wasn't trying to start anything. I was just trying to comfort Anna that's all. It won't happen again."

"You don't need to comfort her! She has me for that! Just don't touch her again okay? She slapped you once and I'm not afraid to do it either so back off." My blood began to boil. My mouth started to reacted quicker then my brain did.

"You comfort her huh? You're an airhead you know that Spencer Jones? A complete fool and airhead!" A crowd had started to form around us now, I just hoped that Annabelle wasn't anywhere near us.

"I'm the fool? Look at yourself man! You're trying to go after a girl who already has a boyfriend! That's not a smart move. You're messing with the wrong guy." He snorted back at me as he got closer and closer.

"Who says she won't leave you for me? I can sure guess that-" That last sentence really threw him over the edge. He punched me in the eye before I could finish. I stumbled back a bit from the blow. I couldn't stop myself from fighting back. I regained my balance and charged at him. I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pushed him back into a locker.

"You underestimated my strength pal." I said while giving him a smile.

"Now I'm gonna let go of you and we can pretend like this never happened, okay?" He nodded his head yes. I let go of him only to be surprised by how quick he was. He then shoved me up against a locker and began beating my face into it.

"Had enough yet?" He snarled at me. I could feel blood began to pour down the side of my face. I quickly socked him in the nose. I grabbed him by his throat and body slammed him into the ground. I put my fist up in the air when I suddenly felt someone grab it. I looked up to see Annabelle with a horrified look on her face. I let go of Spencer and he got up. We both looked at Annabelle, ashamed. Her horrified face suddenly turned angry. I couldn't tell who she was more mad at.

"What is going on here?" I looked over at Spencer who was looking down at his shoes. Guess I was going to have to take this one.

"We were uh just kind've fighting..."

"Just kind've fighting? Liam, Spencer, why are you fighting?"

"We were fighting over you." Spencer butted in.

"Me?"

"Yeah." Her angry face changed to sad. I could still feel blood dripping down my face. Spencer had blood coming out of his nose.

"Don't ever fight again, especially over me, okay?"

"Okay." We said at the same time.

"Good." She said before taking Spencer's hand and walking away from me.
