Jack's P. O. V.

I walked to the waiting room and told Jonah to go in Wren's too. I knew he made her feel almost as safe as she felt with me. Both Em and her dad stood up, walking towards me.

"She doesn't want either of you here," I stated.

"Jack she's over exaggerating," Em started.

"I don't think she is. Why would she lie and fake all this pain?" I asked.

"I just need to talk to her. Explain some things to her," her dad said.

"She doesn't want to hear it, and honestly I don't want you to talk to her either."

"You don't control her," he stepped in my face.

"And neither do you," I replied calmly. "I'm just telling you what she wants. If you want her to get better, you need to leave."

"This is crazy, we're listening to some kid! I'm her father, I can go see her." He pushed past me. I pulled his arm back and looked into his eyes.

"She's not used to seeing you not behind bars. Just give her some time. She lost her trust in you, it'll take a while to earn it back," I said.

He sighed after a few moments of silence. "Will you try to get through to her?"

"If you promise to leave right now," I told him, not meaning it at all.

"Fine. Em, let's go." Em looked at me, then back at her dad. She followed him and Charlie stood up and left with them.

"What was that all about?" Zach asked coming up to me.

"Wren wasn't as lucky as us in the dad department," I said. He nodded, understanding that it was too difficult to talk about.

I brought the guys back to Wren's room and we all sat around with her.

"I'm really sorry about the car," she apologized.

"It's okay, don't worry about it." I kissed her head as doctors came into the room. I stood up and let the doctors check all of her vitals and stuff.

"We'll keep her overnight just to make sure this concussion doesn't lead to anything worse. When she does go home, make sure she rests for five days. Don't do anything that could put your head in danger and stay away from screens. Other than that, you seem perfectly healthy. We'll check in again in a few hours."

"Thank you," Wren said as he exited. I took my spot again in the bed next to Wren.

"I'll stay with you overnight," I said. She smiled and rested her head on my chest.

"First day back in L. A. and someones already in the hospital," Corbyn joked, resulting in our laughter.

"Jack, how did you get my dad to leave?" She asked. It was close to midnight when Wren rolled over and faced me. The question had probably been on her mind all day.

"He asked me to try and get through to you. I just said I would so he'd leave."

"Did Em say anything?"

"She told me you were over exaggerating-"

"I'm not."

"I know, I believe you. I told her that."

"But her and my dad both still want me to talk to him."

"Yeah."

"Nothing either if them could say would make me be even a tiny but closer to forgiving him. Even before he did what he did, he was cheating on my mom so he always lied and he was really good at it. Too bad I had proof to show my mom."

"Is that why-"

"No," she cut me off.

I sat there quietly, not sure if she was going to say more or not.

"It takes a lot for me to be able to say these things again. I pushed them so far back in my head, I almost forgot how torturous it was."

"What do you mean?"

"My dad was never a good guy. Like I said he cheated on my mom. I was ten, when I found a picture of him and a woman kissing. I tried to talk to Em but she wouldn't look at it, she thought I was crazy. My dad overheard us and threatened me that night. He said if I showed it to my mom that he'd kill me. I showed it to her anyways, knowing she wouldn't let him hurt me. He still got to me and beat me. My mom divorced him and I thought he'd be gone forever. Then my mom got sick."

She took a few breathes and wiped a tear from her eye.

"She had breast cancer, and didn't make it. Em and I went back to my dad. He said he forgave me and acted better for a while. But one day I ticked him off. I had a camera that was my moms, the one that got me into photography. I was messing around with it and he found me. He got so angry. Em tried to stop him, but he drugged her so she'd leave us alone. That's how I know the smell. She doesn't know that she was drugged though. My dad basically brainwashed her. She was unconscious while everything happened."

"Wren, I'm so sorry."

"I tried over and over to tell Em the truth, but she wouldn't believe me. After probably a week or so of hiding from my dad every night, afraid he'd do it again, I told a teacher at school. I showed her my bruises and the blood that was stained into the clothes that night. Em told them that he did hit me and tried to take my clothes off and that was enough for them. They sent him to jail for fifteen years, but he got released."

"Wren-" I cut myself off not knowing what to say. Instead, I just held her close to me. I rubbed her back and held her head to my chest. "You're safe now. We can get a restraining order if you want."

"What about Em? She's gonna constantly make me feel guilty and shit," she said quietly.

"Well, you could move in with the guys and I."

"Really? They wouldn't mind?"

"Are you kidding, they love you. I love you. Tomorrow I can go to the apartment when Em is working and pack your stuff."

"Okay," I felt her smile. "I love you too."
