Wren's P. O. V.
I thought I was in the wrong place when the uber pulled into the driveway of a mansion. I never excepted my mom to have been a rich kid. I thanked the driver then got out and walked up to the huge wooden front door.
"Hello?" The old woman asked.
"I'm Wren. Wren Beckett."
"Wren! It's so good to meet you!" She took my hand an pulled me into the house, quickly hugging me.
"You too-"
"Grandma. Or Autumn."
"Grandma," I smiled.
"Come on in, I'll introduce you to everyone!"
"Everyone? I thought I was just you and Naomi."
"Are you kidding? It's summer break, all the grandkids come because I have a huge pool," she laughed.
"Oh," I chuckled. She took me into the living room, past the expensively decorated dining room and grand staircase.
"Everyone, this is Wren!" She said taking me into the living room. Everyone was dresses in bathing suits and drinking lemonade from fancy glasses.
"Wren!" A younger lady came running towards me and picked me up in a hug. "You look so much like your mother. So beautiful."
"Thank you," I blushed. Grandma Autumn introduced me to everyone. Aunt Naomi I already knew, but there was more. My Grandpa Ben, Naomi's husband Kevin, and their five kids. All under the age of twelve.
Nicki was the oldest, she was eleven. She was actually the one who found me. She's a huge fan of Why Don't We, so I promised that I'd bring the guys the next time I visited.
Joann and Jacob were eight. They were twins but couldn't be any more different. Joann was all about sports. Soccer and lacrosse, specifically. Jacob was so into computers he could be a robot. He knew more than I ever learned in my high school computer classes.
Ava was the princess. She was six years old and took all the attention. Not in an annoying way though, more in a cute way. She loved to dress up and dance around the living room. She knew what she was doing when dancing too.
Tommy was the youngest, just two years old. You'd think he'd be the or getting all the attention as the baby, but that's Ava. He was really quiet and shy. He was sitting in Nicki's lap, sucking his thumb, and every time I looked at him he'd turn and put his face into Nicki's neck.
They seemed so nice and moving and welcoming. And made me wonder what happened to make my mom want to leave.
"I'm so glad that I got to meet you all. With everything that's happened, I just kind of felt alone," I shrugged.
"We completely understand. Kids, how about you go back outside for a bit. Let us grown ups talk," Naomi smiled. They all hopped up from where they were and ran outside, jumping into the big fancy pool with a waterfall.
"I'm so sorry we weren't there for you."
"It's not your fault," I said. "Do you mind me asking...why my mom never talked about you?"
"It's a long story," Autumn said.
"I'm here all week," I shrugged making Ben softly chuckle.
"It was mostly because of your father, Steven. We never liked him. He was always shady and sometimes things slipped from his mouth that made it seem like he didn't treat your mom the right way. When he asked us if he could marry her, we said no. But they eloped and we never heard from her again. Your father probably turned into a great man, but as a teen he was a delinquent."
