Daniel's P.O.V.
Jess and I had talked all day every day for another two weeks. It was so easy to talk to her. She was so chill and funny and just a great person to talk to. I think I might've started catching feelings for her, but she has a boyfriend.
I don't know much, but his name is Justin and she lives with him. She says that it's best that I don't know who he is and he doesn't know who I am. Which is fine with me. Even if he did find out about me, it's not like we're more than friends.
The guys eventually started asking why I was always on my phone. I told them about her, but Wren was the only one who didn't tease me.
"Her name is Jess," I told them showing them the picture of her.
"She's hot," Jonah commented.
"Damn you're right," Zach said.
Jack looked at the picture but just shrugged because Wren was standing right behind him.
"She's beautiful, but she has a boyfriend so we're just friends."
"Aw, did poor Dani get friendzoned?" Zach asked, pouting. I slapped his arm.
"When are you gonna meet her in person?" Wren asked.
"I don't know, we haven't talked about that. She lives in Colorado."
The guys lost interest and left to go play video games. Jack and Wren stayed cuddling on the couch. I wish I could cuddle with Jess. Wait what?
I looked back at my phone and saw that she had texted me. She asked if I wanted to face time, and of course I did. I left Jack and Wren on the couch and went to my room.
"Hey girllllll," she said when her face popped up on my screen. She was so beautiful. Daniel, stop.
"Hey Jess," I smiled. We talked for about an hour or so.
"I am so bored," she sighed.
"Where's Justin?"
"He's uh... He's out for guys night," she said.
"Oh. Well I'm here for you," I said, my voice cracking in the middle.
"Oh, Dani did you hit puberty!" She teased.
"I'm gonna kill you," I shook my head looking down from blushing.
When I brought my head back up, Jess's face had changed. She wasn't laughing anymore, she wasn't even smiling. Her face was completely blank and she got so much paler.
"Uh Daniel, I have to go."
"Text me later?"
"Sure." She quickly hung up, but I swear I saw her wipe a few years from her eyes.
"What just happened?" I asked myself.
I texted her, asking if she was okay but she left me on read. I texted her over and over again, but she never answered.
Jess's P. O. V.
"I'm gonna kill you," he joked.
My face went blank. I knew he was joking but all I could think about was what Justin said. I got scared so I quickly told Daniel goodbye. I knew he'd be worried.
I ignored him when he started to text me a ton. If I replied, it'd just give Justin more reason to hurt me. I dropped my head in my hands and started crying. I wanted to tell Daniel so bad. I needed help. I needed to get away from Justin. I heard him unlocking the front door so I hid my phone and went down to the kitchen.
