"Are you the patient's boyfriend?" Jungkook choked at the doctor's straightforward question, shaking his head.

"No, I'm a friend of hers. How's her condition?"

"I see. She is currently resting in the room. It's a relief that the patient is brought to the hospital quickly, or else her condition might have gotten worse. And from what I see, she had suffer amnesia few years ago. Did you know about it?" The doctor asked.

Jungkook gave him a slight nod, "Yes, I do."

If it wasn't for Yoongi, he might have collapsed after hearing the news from the doctor.

"Don't worry, the patient is recovering from her lost memories. You can go in to the room now."

Jungkook gave him a bow before rushing in to the ER. His heart that couldn't beat normally before had calm down at the sight of Hyemin, lying down on the bed peacefully.

"She does looks better when she's sleeping..." Jungkook scoffed.

The longer he stared at her, the more she reminded him of that woman. The image of her lying down on the hospital bed weakly... A memory Jungkook threw to the back of his mind rise up to the surface again.

Ten years ago

The eight years old Jungkook slided the door and sprinted towards the woman who was lying on the bed. A woman with eyes and smile that looked exactly like Jungkook's, his mom.

Jungkook climbed up the chair and looked at at the woman, grinning innocently.

"Oh, honey! You're back from school already?"

"Yes! Mom, look! I got a hundred on my Maths test today!" Jungkook exclaimed cheerfully as he swung his test paper with a 100% written on top of it in a red ink.

His mom smiled proudly and ruffled his hair, "That's my boy. Keep doing well on your study, hm?"

Jungkook nodded and smiled, "I will work hard and bring you to travel around the world when you feel better."

"And mom will promise to get well soon, so you don't have to visit me every day-" She stopped, choking up on her words. Jungkook had to witness the horror in front of him when his mom started hyperventilating.

He jumped down from the chair and retreated slowly, "Dad... Dad!"

Jungkook ran out of the room, shouting his dad's name for dear life. It was just a matter of time when the room was filled with a doctor and nurses, carrying the equipment.

The door was closed; Jungkook waited alone when he heard a heavy footsteps coming nearer towards his direction. He looked up and saw his dad, as pale as a corpse.

"Dad!" Jungkook ran to him as he hugged his leg tightly.

"It's okay, mom will be okay." his dad comforted while patting his little head despite running out of breath.

An hour or two passed, the doctor exited the room with his head down. Mr. Jeon knew it wasn't a good sign, Jungkook was already sobbing at the side.

"H-how's my wife, doctor?" He asked, still have the smallest hope in his tone.

The doctor shook his head hopelessly, "I'm sorry. We tried our best, but-"

"No, mom... mom! She can't die. She promise not to leave me! She promise that she will get well soon and-"

Jungkook gasped, his eyes shot opened. It was just a dream. A vivid dream, that is. He stared at Hyemin and let out a heavy sighed when he noticed she isn't awake yet. He continued to wait for her patiently.

30 minutes passed, 1 hour, then 3... But why isn't she awake yet?

Jungkook started to felt nervous. He stood up from his chair, thinking if he should ask the doctor if she's really. He sighed and sat back on the chair, giving up on the thought of seeing the doctor.

Jungkook flinched at the vibration of his phone. Probably his dad.

"Yes?"

"Son, it's already 8. Why aren't you home yet?"

He guessed it right.

Jungkook glanced at his watch, 9.35 p.m.

"I don't think I'll be home any time soon. I'm looking after a friend in the hospital and her parents aren't home." he explained, glancing at Hyemin from time to time.

"Her?"

"Uhm- Jung Hyemin. Wait, I'll call you again." Jungkook ended the call quickly when he sensed movement from Hyemin.

"Yoongi..." Hyemin muttered; her throat was dry, and her sound came out weird.

"Don't even think about of getting up. What about Yoongi hyung?" he asked, trying to play dumb. Of course he knew about Yoongi, it was a sign she had gain all her memories back.

Hyemin didn't respond. She quickly grabbed Jungkook's hand and looked at him,

"Jungkook,"

"Y-yes?" Jungkook was taken aback by her abrupt action.

"I-I have to see him. I have to see Yoongi."

Did she finally remember everything now?

"What?"

"Yoongi. I have to see him. I have to talk to him." Jungkook could see how desperate her eyes were. Just how much does she love him for her to be this desperate?

"You just woke up. You can't go out in this condition."

"Please, let me meet him." Hyemin pleaded. Jungkook sighed and finally gave up upon seeing her expression.

"Alright. But where are your parents? Why are you alone in your house?"

"They are out for some business and I'm not ready to tell them that I'm in this condition. I have to meet Yoongi before they knew about this." She sighed as she played with her fingers.

She quickly let out an awkward laugh when she realized she was mentioning about Yoongi from the moment she woke up, probably confusing the hell out of Jungkook.

"A-ah... about Yoongi. He's-"

"Wait for a moment. I'll call Yoongi hyung for you." Jungkook cut her off. For some reason, he didn't want to hear the story from Hyemin's side. It made him feel so... uncomfortable.

Jungkook sat down on the waiting chair and stared at his phone.
