"Perrie, What are you doing here? And who is she?" Perrie's mother asked once she saw her daughter entered her office. She also noticed the girl beside Perrie, who was smiling at her awkwardly.
"Hi, mum," Perrie greeted. "Jade, I'd like you to meet my mom. Ma, this is-"
"So you're Jade." She stood up from her chair and placed her hands on the desk for support. She scanned Jade for a second then smiled at her warmly. "Please take a seat." She gestured to the chairs in front of her desk. The two of them quickly obliged.
Perrie was mentally punching her head multiply times for forgetting that it wasn't a good idea for them to meet right now. "Hi, honey! I'm Debbie, her mother. Perrie never shuts up about you!" Jade immediately looks at Perrie, her face flushed.
"Wow. Perrie's right. You look gorgeous!" Debbie smirks when she saw Perrie rolling her eyes. "It's so good to finally meet you!"
Jade blushed. "Uhm, Thanks?"
"Oh, don't need to be so shy, pumpkin. Do you know how Perrie-"
"Mom!"
"Okay, okay," she chuckled. "So, what brings you here?"
"Nothing, we just wanted to see you is all." Perrie shrugged.
"Awwee, that's the sweetest thing you've ever done." Her mom awed. "Wait, since when did you become sweet?"
"Mom." Perrie gave her a look, but her mother ignored her. There was a sudden buzzing noise that made Debbie reach over her desk and push the button on her intercom.
"Yes, this is Doctor Edwards speaking. How may I help you?" She asked mellowly.
"Doc, this is Ellie. I just wanted to remind you that you will have an operation in ten minutes."
"Thanks, Ellie. I'll be there in a minute." Debbie replied then pulled her long white coat from her chair. "Guess I should be going."
"Mom-"
"Nice meeting you Jade. I couldn't wait for this monkey to bring you to my house for dinner." Debbie looked at Jade and smiled at her.
"Ma, sto-"
"Alex will be glad to meet you too, and maybe Hatchi-"
"Mom!" Perrie yelled in frustration.
"What?"
"We need to talk." Perrie grimaced at her mom, crossing her arms over her chest.
"But I have to go." Debbie looked at her weirdly. Her daughter sighs.
"Fine, maybe later?" She asked hopefully.
"Sure thing," she nodded. "Bye Perrie. By Jade. Take care- especially you Jade, alright?" She said before walking over the door.
"Tell Ellie I said hello!" Perrie calls out. "Will do!" Her mother replied before disappearing into the door.
"Sorry 'bout that," Perrie scratched the back of her neck awkwardly. "She's so loud and-"
"No, you don't have to apologize." Jade waved her hand in the air. "I think she's a cool mom." She blurted making the blonde chuckle.
"Yeah, she is." She agreed, nodding her head in the process. "So, what shall we do now? Where should you think we'll go next?"
"To your room?" The brunette suggested then shrugged. Perrie thought for it for a while, then shrugged just like Jade did.
"Maybe you're right," She stood up and lend her hand out. "Shall we?" Jade looked at Perrie's blue orbs then to her hand. She could feel her face heating and be hoping that it wasn't as red as she thought. She took the blonde's hand and stood up, ignoring the chill running down her spine and the tingles in her stomach. She can't help but bit her lip when Perrie tangled their fingers together.
"So," Jade started when they entered the elevator. "Who's Ellie?" She asked out of her curiosity. Perrie glanced at her before smiling. "She's my cousin and my mom's assistant."
"Oh."
"Why you asked?"
"Nothing. Just freakingly curious."
"You are always curious." The blonde chuckled.
"I can't help it." The brunette muttered. "Wait, how did you know?"
"I just noticed," Perrie replied casually.
"Oh."
The doors went open, letting the two girls step out of it. They spotted their brothers outside of the waiting room, looking like they were in a serious talk. Perrie pulled Jade closer to her. She placed her arm around Jade's shoulder and was smirking like an idiot. "I wonder what they are talking about." She whispered in Jade's ear.
Jade all did was to nod before looking down on the floor, letting her hair fall and cover her now crimson-colored face. Her body felt like it would explode any minute if Perrie wouldn't let go.
Damn butterflies, she thought. Damn Perrie.
