Jade and Perrie hurried inside. Everyone is there. All their classmates gawked at them. Luckily, there were two empty seats at the back of the room. Jade gulped. The two of them are going to sit next to each other again. Just like the last time.
Once they were settled, their teacher cleared his throat. "Good morning, class!" He greeted, he flashed them a smile and they all greeted back. "I would like to start this day by introducing a new student. He moved all the way from New York!"
Perrie groaned.
"Would you like to stand up and introduce yourself to the class?"
Silence.
"Uhm, Mr. Elliot?"
Silence.
The whole class started to look around in their seats. But there was no sign of Mr. Elliot.
Jade looked at Perrie, confused. "Where is your cousin?" She mouthed. Perrie only shrugged, not really caring about him.
Suddenly, the door burst open, revealing Jed. He clutched the door handle while he was catching his breath. "Sorry," he said it like he didn't mean it. "I'm late."
The teacher tutted. "The first day of your class and you're late, Mr. Elliot." He half-scolded and pointed a finger at him, giving him a disapproving look. Jed looked down. "But perhaps, I should give it a pass. You're a transferee anyway, and it is often to get lost in this school when you are new. You may take a seat next to Mr. Craske." He nodded towards the empty seat next to Sam. "That is Jed Elliot, everyone. No need for proper introductions," Everybody laughed. "Now, let's proceed to our next lesson."

"Jade, hurry up! We'll be late for lunch." Leigh Anne said as they walk through the crowded hallway. Jade looked around for any sign of Perrie. But found nothing. They were supposed to meet at Jade's locker before going to the cafeteria. The brunette did wait there, but then Leigh Anne came up and started to drag her away from her locker. Jade kept insisting to stay, but Leigh Anne wouldn't listen.
"You don't understand, Leigh." She muttered.
"Don't what?"
"Nothing."
They reached their table where Jesy, Camila and Lauren are waiting. The two seemed to be flirting with each other, while Jesy on their side looked like a third wheel, eating her lunch peacefully and trying her best to ignore them. "Jade!" Camila jolted up once she saw the brunette and gave her a bear hug. "We missed you!" Jade only chuckled as a reply.
"Good to see you're back, Jadey," Jesy said, poking her salad using her fork. She gave her a welcoming smile and watched as Leigh Anne pushed Jade's shoulders down, forcing her to sit. "Yeah, well," Jade muttered, giving Jesy and the couple in front of her a warm smile. She kept glancing over Jesy's shoulder, hoping to see the blonde entering the doors.
"What are you looking at?" Jesy noticed, following the brunette's gaze. Jade's eyes widen as if she was caught sneaking in the middle of the night. "Nothing," she said quickly, waving her hands in front of her. "Just, uhm, where are the others?" She bit her lip.
"You mean Ally, Dinah, and Normani?" Leigh Anne asked beside her, munching her ham and cheese sandwich. Jade nodded. "They told me earlier that they have to finish their Chemistry project. Today's their due. After lunch."
"Wait," Lauren interjects, one arm around Camilla's shoulders. "I thought you and Jesy shared Chemistry class together with them."
"Yeah..." Leigh faltered. "Jes, you have the project, do you?" She looked at Jesy with a horrified look on her face. Jesy's face drained out of the blood. "What? I thought you have it." She replied.
