Jade ran upstairs and shut her door with a loud bang. "Oh My Gosh," she said as she was slowly leaning against the wall, her hands were smacked on her forehead and her thumbs immediately massaged her temples. She felt the adrenaline rushed to her veins aa she screamed at the top of her lungs, not having the power to contain her excitement anymore. She felt as if her whole body would explode any minute.
The door burst open, causing the brunette to stop and look at the person who trespassed her room. Louis was standing at her doorway with his fist tightly clenched over his chest, breathing heavily as he scanned the room. "Where is he?"
Jade giggled and ran at him with her arms open, tackling her brother in a hug. Louis was caught off guard which cause the two of them to fall onto the floor. "What the- Jade?" Louis said, getting up and helping his sister to stand up on her feet too. "What the heck, Poopey?" He frowned when Jade giggled at him again. He was starting to think his sister was going nuts.
"I'm just...so speechless today, Uhm." Jade squeaked, fanning her face using her hand. Louis raised his brows at her. "Yeah, you've talked. I can see that." He said sarcastically, earning a playful punch from Jade. He laughs before returning on his serious face. "Seriously, what happened?"
"Why so serious?" Jade joked.
"Don't try to change the topic, Jade." He warned, pointing his fingers accusingly at his little sister. Jade sighed.
"Okay, fine!" She raised her hands up. "It was Perrie. She-"
"Did she hurt you again?"
"What? No!" She quickly fired back, getting the feeling that she should defend Perrie. "No, she didn't. She just asked me to go out with her somewhere."
"Like a date?"
"No! Not even a date," she whined. "Well.." she didn't know how to say this to her brother. Louis just squinted his eyes at her hand gestures that she didn't even notice doing it in the first place. "Sort of. But it's not a date!" She gasped, taking steps backward into her room. "My god, I need to get change. She's waiting. Oh, freak. I'm getting late." Jade rants to herself as she closed her door.
A date, Louis thought. He smirked to himself and went to his room.
"It must be here somewhere," Louis muttered to himself as he searches through his drawer. Something he'd hidden years and years ago. "Aha!" He yelled successfully. He pulled out a leather necklace with three different shades of blue clay beads. Each bead has a letter engraved on it. He eyed it carefully. P L E.
Louis found himself pacing outside Jade's room, playing with the necklace in his hand. The door soon creaked open and his ears perked up. "Jade, I, uh. Just wanted to give you-"
"I'm so sorry, Lou. But I need to get going now." She gave him an apologetic smile before turning around and ran her way downstairs.
"Wait, Jade!" He called after her. "Wait! I need to give you something important!" He heard the front door closed and cursed underneath his breath. Split seconds, he thought as he descended downstairs. I've got fucking split seconds.
When he opened the door, he saw the car roared to life and Harry waving at them as they go. He slapped himself mentally for being late. Harry turned around with his goofy grin still plastered on his face.
"Why did you ever let her go?" Louis yelled, frustrated. Harry shot him a questioning look as he reached the porch. "Wait, you didn't allow her to go out with Perrie?"
"No, not that!" Louis groaned. "This!" He flashed the necklace in front of Harry's face. The curly-haired boy eyed it for a moment. Furrowing his brow, he wanted to touch the necklace but Louis pulled it away from his sight.
"Hey, let me touch that." He protested. Louis just shakes his head disapprovingly. "It's not like a fragile thing."
"It is." Louis shot back.
"Come on, Lou. Just for one time and I'll stop."
"Fine." Louis sighed and handed Harry the necklace. "But be careful not to drop it."
"Will do," Harry mumbled, inspecting the necklace carefully, just like what Louis did earlier. His eyes landed on the letters engraved on the clay beads, then frowned. "PLE as in plea or pleb?"
"No," Louis smacked his head. "It's initial. P. L. E." Harry gave back the necklace and rubbed his head.
"Smacking my head is not really necessary, you know?" Louis ignored him. He zoned out for a moment, not really believing his thoughts and calculations.
"Haz, have you recalled me telling you about the girl in the park?" Harry gave him a look but then nodded his head. "Yeah, that one silly joke you have. You really messed up my mind, Lou." Harry chuckled.
"It's not a joke," Louis insisted. "Harry, I'm talking about that blonde small girl in the park years ago. Have you forgotten?" Harry looked at him like he'd grown another head. Backing away slightly, he said, "there's a lot of blonde small girls at the park. Also blonde chicks."
"No!" Louis groaned, getting irritated at his brother for being dumb. "Remember Tavian? The guy who set us up in the park?"
Harry thought for it for a moment. "Yeah, that guy. That was a long time ago, Louis. Glad that punk was sent to a Catholic school after what they've done to us."
"Yup. And did you remember the girl Jade was with when they came?" Harry's eyes lit up for a moment. Louis holds his breath, hoping his brother could remember. Harry looked at Louis then frowned. "No." He answered.
"WHAT?" Louis gasped.
"Hey, I remembered running after you guys, then told you to meet at an oak tree while I distract those silly bunch of junks," Harry told him.
Louis face-palmed himself. "How are you so dumb clueless?" He yelled, particularly to Harry. "I was holding hands with a kid at that time."
"That's weird." Harry scrunched up his nose.
"No, what I meant is...Curly. Yes! Curly. The girl who insulted you as curly! Don't tell me-"
"Oh! I remember her now. What's with her?"
Louis told him everything and then Harry's eyes widened. "No, this is not.."
The blue-eyed boy smirked at him knowingly. "Believe me. This is not a coincidence."
