No sooner had Rachel reached the thirty-sixth week of her pregnancy than had her parents flown out to join the couple as they prepared for the birth of the twins; they were excited and Cristiano was glad to have more people around to watch his girlfriend as they prepared for the birth.

The nursery had been completed, and talk was now focused on baby names; Cristiano was going to name their son while Rachel would name their unborn daughter.

“What about Nikki?” Roz asked making Rachel look thoughtful for a moment before shaking her head, the two were currently sitting by the outdoor pool in the back garden as they thought about names and what they could call the twins.

Roz sighed and nodded before turning her attention back to Cristiano who was doing laps of the pool, he had been a preparing for pre-season and she knew that he was worried about missing the birth because of a match.

So Junior didn’t feel left out the couple had also redecorated his room and much to the couple’s surprise the 11 month old, who already said simple words now like no, car and ball and he had called Rachel Mama when she had been feeding him one night.

Cristiano couldn’t have been happier but since no one had taught him the word he couldn’t help but be a little jealous; which had led to the many hours of him repeating the word papa to Junior with no luck.

“How about Bailey?” Roz said making Rachel sigh and look at her mother, Cristiano climbed out of the pool as he sensed his girlfriend’s annoyance; he knew her mother was trying to be helpful but he didn’t want the brunette getting stressed out.

“Okay then how about Willow?” she asked making Cristiano and Rachel look at her before both shaking their heads, the footballer kissed her lips as he sat down next to her knowing that Roz wanted everything decided now and wasn’t going to let up.

“Do you have any ideas?” Roz asked making Cristiano and Rachel look at one another, the brunette smiled at him knowing that this was a tender subject for him.

“We were thinking of naming the boy after my pai,” Cristiano said swallowing the lump that formed in his throat as he spoke of his father, it was still hard even after nearly six years after his death; he was thrilled that he could honour his father in some way.

“And maybe Rosalie or Isabelle for the girl,” Rachel said taking Cristiano’s hand in her own, she knew that he was a little upset and she hoped that she would be able to help him in time.

“I like the name Rosalie but with both of us it might be a bit much,” she said referring to the fact that her name was Rosalind Focker and she had named her daughter, Rachel Rae Focker having a Rosalie Focker was getting a bit silly in Roz’s head.

The rest of the afternoon seemed to pass quietly with Roz and Bernie retiring to their room early leaving Rachel and Cristiano alone; the footballer gently stroked Rachel’s arm as he watched the television, Rachel looked at him curiously.

“Do you miss them?” she asked making the Portuguese look at her; Cristiano knew she was talking about his family, nodding he pressed a kiss to Rachel’s head.

“Of course but if they can’t accept you, then I don’t want them here,” Cristiano said as he smiled softly and rested his head against hers, he wished his family would come around to the idea that he was with the brunette.

Rachel sighed as Cristiano rested his head against hers, it had been seven months since any of Cristiano’s family had had contact with him; however Rachel couldn’t help but feel guilty for coming in between Cristiano and his family.

Cristiano squeezed Rachel’s hand, trying to comfort her; he knew it bothered her that his family weren’t speaking to him because of her.

“It’s not your fault Rach, they just want to protect me,” he said softly making the brunette nod as she looked at him; Cristiano gently pressed a kiss to Rachel’s soft lips and smiled.

“But I don’t need protecting anymore… my heart already belongs to you,” he whispered softly to her; Rachel felt her checks heat up slightly making Cristiano chuckle as he kissed her again.

However ever the sudden slamming of the front door pulled Rachel and Cristiano apart; standing at the front door Dolores frowned at her son and Rachel as she stepped into the living room.

Cristiano raised an eyebrow at her wondering what his mother could want now after months of no contact; he knew that she had come for a reason and this wasn’t going to be pleasant.

“I see she’s still here,” Dolores said glaring at the brunette who bit her lip knowing this couldn’t end well; the older woman didn’t know why Rachel was still here but she knew that this had to come to an end now.

“Mãe don’t do this,” Cristiano begged knowing that she could alert Rachel’s parents to her presence, he doubted that they would be pleased to hear what his family had to say about the brunette and he knew that Roz would cause a fight if she knew.

Dolores pursed her lips while the brunette glanced at the door wondering how much longer it would be before her mother would come to investigate; she knew that Roz Focker was to nosey for her own good.

“Could I have a moment alone with her?” asked Dolores making Cristiano stiffen and shake his head, he knew whatever his mother had to say to Rachel wasn’t going to be pleasant.

“Whatever you have to say to Rachel can be said in front of me,” Cristiano said making the brunette glance at him before another voice spoke up; Rachel stiffened as she spotted her mother stepping into the living room looking far from happy.

“I’m Roz Focker… Rachel’s mother,” Roz said introducing herself to Dolores who nodded stiffly as she took in the woman before her.

Roz sat down next to her daughter, who glanced warily at her mother as Dolores turned her attention to Cristiano.

“How can you do this to me?” the Portuguese mother asked as she stared at her youngest son, she knew that Cristiano was making a mistake and she didn’t know why he didn’t see it; the only thing that she wanted to do was protect him.

“It’s not about you… it’s about how they feel for one another,” Roz said butting in, she glared at the Portuguese wondering who the hell she thought she was.

Dolores hadn’t bothered to try and get to know Rachel before she had judged her and that annoyed Roz more than anything.

“Why don’t you two head outside while I have a little chat with Dolores,” Roz said making Cristiano nod his head before he helped Rachel to her feet.

Dolores’s eyes glanced at the brunette’s swollen stomach, however her son’s tenderness towards Rachel was something she had never seen before.

The couple quickly left the two mother’s alone before Roz sighed as she stared at Dolores wondering what to say to someone who had judged her daughter so unfairly; she pursed her lips as the Portuguese took a seat.

“So Dolores do you want to lose your son permanently?” Roz said as she stared the woman across from her down, she knew that she needed to knock some sense into Dolores and a shock tactic was the only option that she had left.
