CLARY POV

I wake up to an annoying ring. I groan and roll to the nightstand. I answer the call. "Clarissa Morgenstern" I say.

"Clarissa, I haven't received the money....Where is it?" Mom asks.

"Wait, you were serious?" I ask. "Mom, I don't have the money..." I say.

"First of all, not my problem that your sorry ass doesn't have enough money! Second of all, I'm not mom, You have to call me Jocelyn" Mom says. I stand up and grab a robe, I put it on and head to the bathroom, I lock the door and sit on the toilet seat.

"I don't have money because I came here with no money to get a dorm nor an apartment!" I say. " I'm busy with school and I don't have time to get a third job!" I say

"That's it! I'm done with you! I'm suing you!" My mom says. My jaw drops.

"What?!" I gasp.

"Yes you disgraceful brat" She says.

"Why do you call me a disgrace?!" I ask annoyed. "I'm not a pregnant Teen! I didn't go to Jail! And you're acting as If I did something horrible!" I exclaim. "When you were the one who almost ruined the most important relationship of my life!"

"That's why! that's exactly why! you like that boy more than your own parents!" She yells.

"Oh, so you're telling me that you actually love your parents WAY more than dad?!" I ask.

"That is not Fair Clarissa! Your father and I are married! you and that boy won't go anywhere!" She yells. I bite my lip and nod.

"Ok, Sure...but, you know, if you were actually interested at all in my life you would know that Jace actually proposed to me yesterday, thanks mom" I say and hang up. I fall on the floor and hug my knees. Tears roll down my cheeks. The door opens and I wipe my cheeks as I sniffle.

"Hey, What happened?" Jace asks. I turn my face.

"My mom called me" I explain. "Aperantly she's suing me because I can't pay her back her precious 900 dollars" I say. He frowns.

"What?! Thats crazy" He says. I sniff.

"Yeah, I told her we were engaged" I sniff. Tears pour down my face. "You know....when I thought ....about telling my mom...that I would get married, I imagined her, congratulating me, Getting excited, trying to plan the whole wedding......But....instead she's suing me" I cry. Jace hugs me tightly.

"This is all my fault....isn't it?" He asks.

"Jace....I know you....So please, don't leave me thinking it would be better. Because Jace, You are the only person I have left" I say. "Please Jace!" I plead.

"Alright, I won't" Jace says. I sigh and let him hug me.He cuddles with me for hours, which was nice. I felt warm on the bathroom floor. He picks me up and puts me on the bed. He pulls me closer to him and cuddles me. I kiss his cheek and eventually drift off to sleep.
