JACE POV
I laid on her chest as she played with my hair, Clary was still on her work vacation. I wanted to go see her but I didn't want to pressure her. So now I'm on the couch, my head laying on her chest. She runs her fingers soothingly across my scalp. She sighs. "Jace, stop sulking......She'll come back..." My mother says worriedly.
"I'm fine mom, I just needed you" I whisper. She looks at me and smiles.
"Oh Jace" Her eyes filled with water as she pulls a strand of hair away from my eyes. "That's the first time you said that" she cries. I look at my mother. She wasn't there, she wasn't there for more than half my childhood. But I love her. I do, I love her. I want, my child....Boy or girl....To feel loved....Loved by his/her mother......And by me. And he/She will get that. She/he will get a family, even if it kills me. Because even though I have no idea if this child is a boy or a girl, I am in love with this child.
"Mom....I need to go" I say. She smiles and nods.
"Of course, I'm just gonna go to one of the malls here." She says. I smile and run out of the apartment. I run out the door and run down the street. I keep running. I wait for the cross walk to turn back on. I was on H street. The light goes on again. I run down the street. I hear screeches and honks.

CLARY POV
"Andrew has autism" I tell Andrew's mom. "I'll try to put it in the simplest way possible" I tell her."Autism is a disability in the brain....it...it's genetic" I explain. She was about to say something but Nurse Dona comes rushing in.
"Dr. Herondale........we need you in the surgery wing" She says. I studied surgery for years, I graduated from both Pediatrics and Surgery. It took me pulling all nighters almost every day, but I got through it. I run down to the surgical wing. Bailey was pulling in people who were really screwed over. I wasn't exactly a surgeon, but I can assist. And because of the plague infection....a lot of people got sick. Meaning less doctors.
"Grey and Yang ...take the next one....Herondale and O'maley... take this one" she says giving me and George a woman.
"Fifteen year old, name: Sarah Rose. Crushed by a semi truck because of the accident in H street" George says as we go into the OR. Callie was there with Shepard. Callie starts working on the crushed bones with George. I help Shepard with the surgery. I can hear my pager go off, I ignore it since Sara Rose was in critical condition. Another nurse comes in.
"Dr.Herondale.....we need you" The nurse says.
"I know my pager has been going off like crazy.....I'm busy" I say.
"Doctor" She starts but I interrupt her.
"I'm busy" I say again concentrating on the patients brain.
"Doctor Clarissa Adel Herondale" the nurse says. I look up at the nurse as she says my full name. "There's been an accident." I straighten.
"What happened?!" I ask.
