If there was one way that I could kill someone the first thing I would do is mutilate them. I feel it would be a great tactic--especially for men like Jesse. Men like Jesse are the ones you're supposed to stay away from but in the end, you fail to do so. Jesse is the one that in books is the main man who the strong female protagonist falls for. He's the one that you hate, but you can't help but like him because it is who he is. He's the guy that pulls this hot and cold shit and you want to wring him by the neck and hang him upside down and beat him with a bat, then after you could take him--
"Lux!" Daemon called, snapping his fingers in front of my face.
I whipped my head up and raised a brow. "Yes?"
"Did you hear what I said?" Daemon frowned, his burly arms folded.
"Uh, yes?" I shrugged and stared at the rest of the room. We were in Daemon's bedroom--which wasn't anything special. There was nothing personal in it and he had a backpack in the corner filled with the quick things he needed just in case he needed to run away quickly. Smart.
"I'll repeat what I said--you know for your sake," Daemon sighed, "We need allies and what better person than the enigma herself; Everen Bloodtrei."
Blair raised his head. "Wait, what? Why her? Isn't she a traitor?"
Roman turned to Blair and shook his head. "Technically we are all traitors mate. We're going back to keep up appearances, but it's too late. We started the beginning of the movement to change the way things are."
Blair nodded slowly. "You're right. Nothing will be the same..."
Daemon frowned. "Blair, you don't have to be a part of this. If you want to go back, I just tell you this now. Tell anyone about this and what we're doing, I'll kill you. If you so much as sneeze and I feel like it's about this place I'll kill you. Once we step into Bloodtrei's territory and you try to stop me or anyone of my people, I'll kill you."
Blair stared back at Daemon. "You make it seem like I have no choice, friend."
"You don't. The cowardness of you will not rub off on anyone else. You're welcome to leave and take away the opportunity choices to your succubi. Keep oppressing them and eventually, they will revolt. I'm not asking you to join and fight for us, I'm asking you to give your succubi a choice," Daemon replied, staring at him seriously. Daemon was sitting on the edge of his bed, but you could still tell that he was no joke and that he was the power of this room. Incubus or not, Daemon was a force to be reckoned with. Many people never saw him fight, but I knew firsthand he could kick some major ass if need be.
"Well, ok."
"Where's Storm?" Roman asked, his eyes leveling to me.
My eyes widened. "Why are you looking at me?"
"Because you guys have an odd relationship that requires Storm to be around you at all times," Roman accused.
Daemon's head turned to me like he was interested in what I had to say to that accusation. I glared at Roman. "I don't see how any of that is your business. Even if there was something going on, I still wouldn't address it."
Roman nodded. "Well said."
Daemon sighed. "We need to start trusting each other. The only way we're going to be able to take down the hierarchy is trust. If we are all here that means we have the same beliefs. So please, believe in each other," he explained. Daemon stood up and walked over to the window. "Anyways, the reason why I called you over here, Lux, is that we need to know where Everen is hiding and I know you know," Daemon explained.
