I avoided Luxinia the whole day. Just replaying the moment before Seres died in my head over and over again. Love could kill. I was dangerously getting way too close to Luxinia. There was a reason my father taught me to be ruthless and that was to stay away from falling in love. Nothing good came from it. Having my memories was not something I was happy to have, but at the same time, it reminded me not to go and do the same thing all over again.

The very next day I saw Luxinia in the garden that was on the side of the building. She was there talking to Tessa. They seemed like they were in a heated conversation. I knew I should've stayed away, but I couldn't help but listen to what they were talking about from the window.

"Lux, you need to go and tell Daemon or something. This isn't no joke," Tessa sighed, cracking her knuckles on her good hand.

"I know. I just don't know how to start it. He's like whispering in my head and all I hear are screams... I hope it isn't Jamie," Lux stared at her feet and then lifted her head to the sky.

Tessa sounded like she choked on a sob and then she took a deep breath. "Jamie's strong and he's clever."

"Maybe I should just give myself to Dom. Trade Jamie for me. I know I'm the one they want. I refuse to be the cause of people suffering, especially Jamie out of all people," Lux replied.

Anger bubbled up inside my chest. I'll be damned if I let Luxinia bring herself in. We didn't save her in vain. I didn't get stabbed with a seraph blade for nothing. I quickly opened the front door and walked towards them. I was about to yell at her when I stopped in my tracks and hid behind a tall pillar.

Luxinia was staring out into the horizon, her eyes rimmed red. "I can't keep playing this game. Once we lie low for the week I'm going to do something. I can't just sit and do nothing."

Tessa frowned and stared at her. "You can end the withdrawals by getting claimed by Jesse."

"It isn't that simple. Having another person's thoughts in my mind? Dominick may just be too powerful for Jesse. Do you know how much sex energy that would require? I would have to submit myself to Jesse completely. I'm not ready to do that. I wouldn't ever do that," Lux stood up, "I'm going to ask Daemon what should I do."

Tessa grabbed Lux's arm quickly. "I don't think that Jesse wanted to kill his claimed. Jesse's... different. I was claimed by him for a short time remember? I heard his thoughts. There are two sides to him. He... fights between them both. Everything was fuzzy in his mind. Those girls that he killed, he wasn't in control."
