Part of me wanted to strangle Jesse and the other part of me wanted to hold him close and make sure he never left. However, I didn't lock myself in my room and cry myself to sleep. Instead, I immediately went to Daemon to push the assault on Bloodtrei and his castle. "We need to strike now!" I argued, slamming my hand on the table. This argument was going in circles for a while.

Tessa stared at me with a blank look on her face. "I find it pretty funny how we didn't agree to rescue Jamie, but now that Jesse left you to rescue his first love, you're pushing for an assault."

I glared and her and chose to ignore the snide comment. "It's not just that, he works as a good distraction."

"No, we work as a good distraction. They'll focus on us rather than a small rescue," Daemon replied.

There was something off about Tessa that I didn't like. She kept shifting her body and she grew tenser whenever we said rescue. I looked around the room and noticed that Jesse wasn't the only one MIA. Blair always made sure he was the first person whenever it came to a meeting and the fact that he wasn't here threw me off a bit.

"Where's Blair?" I asked.

The room felt like an open question and everyone was looking around and mumbling to the people standing beside them. Tessa stood quiet and my eyes turned into slits. "Tessa, Where's Blair?"

"I don't know, why are you asking me?"

I cursed knowing that Jesse wouldn't go alone and that Blair wouldn't let Jesse go. "He went with him didn't he?"

Tessa scowled and then looked away. "Not for the reason that you think. He was doing something that should've been done the first night at the ball."

"He's getting Jamie?" Daemon asked. "Fuck! This is why I never brought incubi or succubi who I knew that can't handle things. You all are supposed to listen to the orders that are given! We do not separate and go off on our own. That is how you all die!"

I shook my head. We now had two powerful people off the grid. "Daemon, we should prepare now."

"Lucien has the power to kill them both. They might not even make it inside." One person who I was familiar with said.

I grabbed my sword from the shelf and sheathed it inside the side of my hip. "I'm done with this. I'm going whether you like it or not."

Daemon grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back. "No, if you all start going off on your own, we won't have the people to go and bring down the castle. It's suicide. If you go off, I'm going to have to send people to lock you up."

"No, I'm going to go bring down Lucien. If that's some way I can help, I'll do it," I snapped, "Try and stop me. I'll fight back." This was my fight too. Somehow, I let everyone start to handle my problems. I was seeming to lose myself and I forgot that I was my own person. I escaped from Dominick. I did that mostly on my own. I was done just waiting to hear from people. Me being claimed by Dominick made me a liability before, but this time I had full reign of myself as long as I was claimed by Jesse.

Tessa grabbed my arm as I was walking out of the hall. "I'm going with you."

I heard Daemon call after us and I quickly pulled her down the hall. Once I knew we were safe I looked at her closely. She was my best friend, but it for sure didn't feel like it.
