Six Months Later

The recurring sound of an alarm cut through my sleep, rendering me wide awake. I sighed, stretching over Jesse and her to turn off the alarm.

"Jesse, get up. You have a meeting today," I replied, sitting up and putting on my slippers.

Jesse groaned and sat up slowly, completely naked. He stood up and stretched, sending a shiver down my spine as I watched his body maneuver out the bed.

Seres yawned and sat up slowly, rubbing her eyes. "Where are you guys going?" The sound of her shrill voice cut right through the lust that I was feeling for Jesse. I rolled my eyes, hoping that maybe if I fell back asleep she would be gone.

"I have to do rounds today and Jesse has a meeting with Daemon and Everen," I replied, annoyance already growing.

Growing accustomed to Seres was harder than I thought. Easy to say that our relationship suffered on account of her. At first, he told me that he cared for her, but not in a romantic way. Daemon questioned, I questioned her. Almost everyone told her to tell her story at least five times. She repeated the same thing over and over. She was resurrected and the first thing she saw was Bloodtrei. She had no idea what was going on. She had no prior memory of her life before. No one told her anything. Dom had taken her to a penthouse in Manhattan. She was kept there to get accustomed to the world of the living. She wasn't tortured, but there were cambions stopping her from escaping. Dom told her that Jesse went AWOL and he turned against the Society. She remembered Jesse.

She didn't even know that Jesse was still alive, but she wanted to see him immediately. Dom didn't let her leave and eventually as time passed, he thought she was fit to be outside. She would follow Dominick to meetings about incubi leaving the Society and succubi revolting. She didn't understand what was going on. It wasn't until Dominick told Bloodtrei that they needed a better area to be in and that they should evacuate the castle. Dom told her to stay in the room until someone came to get her and that was that.

I knew there was more to the story, but I chose to bait my time. Dominick was too insane to not treat her a certain way. Jesse asked if he slept with her and she evaded the question. I was fed up with her since the second she got here.

She had her own room, but it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that she came into our room in the middle of the night crying about some nightmares. She was like a child. Jesse decided that she was to sleep with us so she wouldn't be alone. It sucked. Especially when she tried weaseling her way in-between us.

Jesse and I were still together. He still loved me, I think. He didn't do anything with Seres. There was no touching involved aside from the excruciatingly long hugs. She really was a hugger. She even hugged me for a long time. She piqued my suspicions.

Everen ended up buying a huge warehouse building that connected to a mansion upstate. It was like an estate. She completely renovated the warehouse for the succubi that were rescued to become rehabilitated. General Hudson was in charge of that. Sometimes I helped train the girls for combat. We were receiving many new succubi and incubi partners almost every week. I joked around with Daemon calling him Charles Xavier and that this was the home for gifted youngsters.

The Society was completely silent and the Demon Consul hadn't said anything so we decided to not start anything, nor contact the Demon Consul. Bloodtrei was completely MIA. No one heard from him or from Dominick. Dominick had called Daemon and since then, Daemon has thrown himself into his work more than usual.
