|Fifty-Seven|
                              |Jesse|

Daemon stood in front of the room, talking to us on our game plan. "The first step, of course, is for Jesse to act as if nothing ever happened. He'll go in, telling Bloodtrei everything is okay. I think he should bring Seres with him, but of course, that's entirely up to you."
I grimaced, glaring at him. Seres was no longer allowed in these meetings and she was under suspicion of being a mole. We placed her down in the cells until we decided to do something with her. I suppose it was wrong of me to challenge Daemon's authority. "If it's the best course of action, then why not?"
"Where's Luxinia?" Everen asked as she walked into the room. She looked like a mess today, which was something that I never thought I would say about Everen. This woman was the essence of being put together. Nothing was ever out of place with her, but today she was in sweats and her hair was a mess, thrown into a bun. I didn't how old Everen was, but today she looked like she was in her seventies.
"She was in the other conference room with some weird cambion last time I saw her," I muttered, annoyed that she was always at the forefront of all the conversations. Watching her on her knees in front of that cambion angered me, but there was nothing we could do now. I couldn't focus on her anymore.
Everen stood quiet for a moment and her eyes grew wide. "I must go." She turned around and left the room quickly. I raised a brow, wondering what that was about. I shook my head, knowing I shouldn't concern myself with the likes of others.
"What the hell was that about?" Daemon asked, walking to the door.
"Everen has been giving Luxinia her blood, perhaps it's taking a toll on her now?" Blair asked.
Daemon shook his head. "I was going through some old journals and Olivia Ignatius, one of the founding witches of Everen and Luxinia's curse had some interesting things she wrote. There's a backdoor to this curse. We were all wrong about what she was. Luxinia might be Lilin."
"The children of Lilith? That's folklore, no one has really seen any," Blair frowned, "I don't even know what they are."
Roman sighed. "The Demon Consul. They know exactly what they are. While I was a member of it, they eradicated the Lilin with the help of the angels. We were all afraid of what they were capable of."
My eyes widened. There was a pregnant pause of silence. Daemon picked up the journal from the table and read through the pages. "Ignatius was horrified of Lux and her brother. It would only make sense."
"How powerful is Lux?" I questioned, surprised. "She would be able to kill Bloodtrei."
"She could probably level a city on her own. Think about it, Lilith is half-divine. She has the power of hell and heaven on their side. Her children? That bloodline? Horrifying raw power... " Roman trailed off as he gazed shifted to the window.
"We don't know that much yet. Let her figure some things out and I'm sure she'll know what to do," Daemon replied, "She can't be used as a weapon. I'm sure that's why Bloodtrei was so interested in her."
There was another moment of silence. Daemon grunted, deciding to burst the pregnancy of the pause. "Anyways, once we enact our original plan, I'll run it by Luxinia and we'll be in motion. I'll have her consider the idea you guys brought up. But if she doesn't want to do it, then we forget it."
Roman was the first to leave. General Hudson followed after. Blair, Tessa and I waited, perhaps too lost in thought to move. Daemon started shuffling files that were on the table.
