Jesse kissed me hard while he fucked me, sending shivers throughout my body. I was enjoying this intense moment with him.

However, a pretty shitty thing happened.

His phone rang.

And he fucking picked it up.

"Hello?" He murmured, his eyes looking wild as they stared at me.

He nodded as if the person on the other line could see him. "Fuck. Yeah, I'll be there." Jesse pulled out of me unceremoniously.

I sat up, not caring that I was as naked as the day I was born. "Seriously?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry its a meeting with the incubi. It's important." Jesse said as he threw his clothes on.

I nodded, realizing that Jesse wasn't some guy that I could just be with. He wasn't human. He was an incubus and he was dangerous. He could control me within a moment's notice. At the end of the day, he will always answer to his people. If Bloodtrei wanted me killed, Jesse would indeed listen to him. He wasn't someone I could trust.

And he couldn't trust me.

Once I was done with a full day's work, I knew it was time to go. I was starting to jumble words as I read them. Being an editor required me to be fully awake or else I would be reading something absolutely stupid.

Yawning as I got up, I walked over to the door to leave. I was sure that no one was in the office but me. Although, I couldn't shake this sense of paranoia that someone was watching me. I sighed and knew that I should trust my gut. I closed the door slowly and walked over to the nearest desk. My assistant who was filling in for Ms. Jameson kept the desk pretty clean and he didn't ever touch the inside of the desk. Which was good for me. I always made sure there was something in there that my assistant could use to protect herself in case another incubus came in looking for me.

Everen mailed me a blade that I have no idea where she got it from. The knife was blessed by the Seraphim. The holiest of the angels. It glimmered blue in the light, showing the lifeforce of the Seraph that blessed it.

I held the knife tightly in my hand as I walked down to the elevator. Most of the lights were off and dimmed, but my vision was strong enough to spot anyone.

I pressed the elevator button and patiently waited for the elevator to arrive. I could hear my blood rushing and my heart pounding as I anticipated the arrival of the elevator.

Once the doors opened, I tensed up. My eyes dart to the two men who wore black from head to toe. Their faces were glamoured, causing me to be unable to see what they looked like.. I backed up the second that they both lunged for me. My knife flashed and I sliced the air, cursing when I missed. One ducked and swept my legs from under me. Suddenly, my wings unfurled, knocking both guys back. The taller one recovered faster and he lunged for me. The ceilings were lower than I thought. It would be easy for them to grab my ankles and pull me down.

And that's exactly what happened. A meaty hand grabbed my ankle and yanked me down. My body fell down with a loud sounding smack on the flat hard floor rendered me frozen for a moment. Pain bloomed throughout my shoulder blades and I saw spots in my vision. Wings were strong, but the root of wings was the most sensitive part. And I had fallen hard on them. I took a deep breath and saw the two guys looming over me.

Get up!

I needed to get up before they did whatever they wanted to do to me. I rolled away and got up, stumbling over a desk. The guys that were trying to tackle me moved like cambions. Eager to try and off me. I ran over to the elevator and waited for them to run towards me. Their fighting was sloppy and I knew that if I was fast enough, I could potentially escape them.

Once the cambions ran towards me, I pressed the elevator and waited for them to tackle me. The elevator opened and the next thing I knew, black engulfed my vision.

My eyes reopened, my heart racing. My instincts were to immediately sit up, but something was stopping me. I looked around and noticed I was tied to a cold table, unable to move even an inch. The ropes around me were searing into my skin. I'm sure they were blessed by the angels, just like my blade. Blessed items were a danger to us. Demons we allergic to anything an angel touched. It was called an angel-kiss. Our human form would slowly start to burn as whatever was angelically-kissed touched us. Only our true form could withstand the pain of an angel-kiss. I was in too much pain to transition into my demon form.

Instead, I decided to take in my surroundings. I refused to be helpless. Ropes and chains were hanging from the ceiling. There were shelves aligned on the farthest wall from me. The wall consisted of different whips and switches. My eyes darted to the other side of the room. There was a figure standing there, a glamour upon his face just like my attackers. His demeanor sent a pang of familiarity through my gut.

I knew this man.

From where? I didn't know, but I didn't get a good feeling.

The man slowly approached the table. This was the first time that I noticed that I was dressed in a long white gown, it hanging over the table.

The man had a whip in his hand, gripped loosely. Whatever this was he seemed extremely comfortable and that's what unnerved me.

Suddenly, in a flash, he snapped the whip and it laced around my thigh. I winced in pain and shook my head. I didn't dare give him the satisfaction of harming me.

The man chuckled behind his mask. It was then that I felt sex energy wrapping around my body. It felt gross as if it was a large insect coiling it's body around me. Heat flared up in my lower stomach and around my breasts. This power reminded me of Jesse's, however, this one was more sinister. Fear and pleasured pooled in my belly. He lifted up his hand, reaching towards my throat. I stiffened, trying to think of a way to get out of him choking me. Bracing myself, I squeezed my eyes shut.

Instead of him choking me, he yanked my necklace from my throat. My eyes whirled opened and I stared at that ring that used to be Dominick's. The man held it up to the dim lighting. "This ring, you've kept it safe for a very long time." His voice, that rasp was eerily familiar.

I narrowed my eyes in anger. "What's it to you?"

"I thank you for saving it for me all these years," The man's glamour dissipated, revealing the face that haunted me for years.
