I walked straight up to the fourth floor and I hadn't seen anyone. We were roaming the east side of the castle and everything was in place, It was as if everyone just up and left. I was beginning to lose patience. I turned to Blair. "We should split up. This castle is way too big. There might not be anyone on this side, but what about the west side of the castle? That's a whole other part."

Blair nodded. "Normally, I would suggest that's a bad idea, but at this point, no one is here so far. Perhaps it's the best thing to do."

"I'm going to the top floor. Phone me if you run into something." I looked at the small staircase and made my way to it.

"Good luck," he replied, "I'll be going to the basement and working my way up." He left and I walked up the steps, looking around the top floor. Normally Bloodtrei would have a desk in the middle of the room, but nothing was there. I walked further into the room and looked at the figure in front of me.

"You guys suck at hide and seek," Dominick said, looking out the window.

Outside there was a full blizzard happening.

My eyes narrowed. "Where's Seres?"

"You know, it's pretty funny. Every time we run into each other, it's always about you trying to find a girl. Did you get sick of Luxinia yet? I'm sure you did," He turned around, settling his hands into his pockets. He wore his signature suit and tie.

"Cut the shit," I lunged for him, but he easily sidestepped me and shook his finger.

"Tsk tsk, I wouldn't do that. Especially since I know where Seres is. Honestly, she's probably in my bed. There's something about fucking a girl who was dead that makes it all the more enticing. I'm sure she felt the same, or maybe she didn't? Well, it doesn't matter either way," Dom chuckled, his laugh instantly cut off once I charged into him.

He swiftly landed a kick to my legs and I tumbled to the ground, rolling off to the side. He sprung like a coiled snake, landing a hard blow to my face that I couldn't parry. His foot caught my ribs and I groaned, feeling them snap.

I leaped to my feet, ignoring the screams coming from my ribs. They would heal. I lunged towards Dom, embedding my fist into his chest, knocking the air out of him.

Dom staggered away, fighting to get his air back. For a moment, he looked like he would puke, but he managed to straighten up. Pure rage crossed his face.

He charged me, fists flailing. I was ready to take him head-on. One fast straight punch to Dom's jaw and his head whipped back, his body arched backward, all of his momentum snapping back on him like a broken rubber band. For one long moment, his body hung in the air. Then he landed with a thud.

I was on him quicker than rain pouring, punching him square in the face. "Where. The. Fuck. Is. Seres." I hit him with every word, watching his nose burst, blood pouring out of his nostrils.

Dom shoved me off hard, throwing me to the side. He held his nose with one hand and backed up. "Listen, I heard Daemon's alive. I organized this whole situation to talk, not to fight. I'll give you Seres if you tell me about Daemon." He breathed hard through his mouth, spitting out blood.

I backed up and glared at him. "Why does that matter to you? This isn't a fair trade. I get Seres and you just want to hear from me that he's okay?"

"A phone call," Dom coughed, "just to hear his voice. I'm sure he hates me, but this is all I want. We can be enemies another time, let's just get what we want."
