You are the light off my life

After school~

"Sorry for making you wait." Fay said hoisting her bag on her shoulder.

"It's alright, I didn't wait that long." Daniel waved it off, as he put away his phone.

"Why did you want to meet up?" Fay asked him curiously.

"Can't a boyfriend want an after-school date with his girlfriend." Daniel pouted at her.

It took Fay a while to answer, as this was the first time Daniel had directly addressed them as, boyfriend and girlfriend.

"Seems not huh..." His face dropped even more, and Fay hurried to answer "Of course you can! but you could ask me any other day too."

"Huh?" a cheeky grin started forming on Daniels' face, as he heard that.

"I-I mean that you don't need to ask me personally, you can text me too." Fay hurried to clarify, as she felt her cheeks get warm "We met up at the weekends too, didn't we? During the fireworks festival?"

"Yeah, I think we should discuss our schedules more." Daniel nodded his head,  as he gestured for her to start walking.

"That might be a good idea." Fay nodded too, as she recognized the road they were taking  "Are we going to the cafe again?"

"Yep, I heard they have a new special cake set," Daniels eyes immediately started thinking "and I've been itching to try!"

"Oh my god really?!" Fay asked getting equally excited "Since when?!"

"Since two days ago or so I heard!" Daniel informed her, as they continued to walk towards the cafe naturally.

"Ugh, how could I've missed that?" Fay questioned in general, as she was usually always up to date with the cafe's menu.

"Well, you got me now to keep you up to date." Daniel winked at her  "So why the worry?"

"What are you, my personal cafe alarm?" she chuckled.

"If you want to, I could be your anything." Daniel let out before realizing what he said.

"Oh gosh! I am so including that line in the script." Fay said as she cringed her hands in front off his face "I'll make you say that in front of hundreds of people, only then you'll realize how cheesy it is."

"Oh no, you won't!" Daniel immediately protested, finding her non-flustered reactions were refreshing.

"Is that a threat Mr. Kangdan?" Fay raised an eyebrow at him.

"What if it is?" Daniel grabbed her hand and wriggled his eyebrows at her.

"I'll send Risa at you." Fay immediately said, making Daniel burst out in laughter.

"Oh, now I'm scared." He laughed as he interlaced their fingers subtly "I might need Seongwoo to protect me."

"Trust me, she's really scary for her squirt size." Fay warned him, as a smile formed on her face too "Remember those five fist fights with Cressy? Those weren't the only one."

Daniel started breaking out in cold sweat when he heard that "At what age was that?"

"Age eleven I think." Fay looked at him amused, as he visibly gulped.

"Oh look, we've arrived." Daniel quickly changed the topic, pointing at the cafe in front of them.

"Oh really?" Fay asked still amused but followed him inside, as she shook her head...

*Cafe*

"So what can I get for the cute couple?" the barista behind the counter smiled at them with a tender smile.

"How does she know we're a couple?" Fay's mind buffered for a second before, she realized that they were still holding hands.

"The new cake set with two caramel latte macchiato's," Daniel ordered, seemingly unaffected by the comment.

He even took out his wallet from his pocket without letting go of her hand and wanted to pay, when Fay stopped him.

"Let me pay half!" she protested, but Daniel had none of it and quickly paid.

"Can't-do." Daniel shook his head, making her pout  "I asked you to come, so it's my treat."

"Even if you asked me to come, I can still pay!" Fay protested, and the barista started laughing at their cute quarrel, from behind the counter.

"Let him pamper you as long as it lasts miss." She winked at Fay "After three months, they won't even bother to pamper. Won't you?" she directed her attention at the guy behind the coffee machine.

"Don't talk like I don't treat you well!" the guy flared up, feeling treated unfairly. This only made the barista laugh louder.

"Your orders will soon be ready take a seat please." she grinned at them, and Fay couldn't help but smile too.

"They are cute together aren't they?" Fay chuckled as she took her seat and let go of Daniels' hand, immediately it felt like she was missing something but she shrugged it off.

"That one push and pull couple, who in the end can't go without each other." Daniel agreed as he took off his coat, and got comfortable in his chair.

"Those relationships will probably go on for a long time," Fay mumbled, feeling slightly envious.

"But Fay aren't you quite the tease too." Daniel pouted, leaning his chin on his hands on the table "Threatening me with my cheesy lines."

"Oh mark my words, darling, I will certainly put those in." Fay grinned devilishly at him "That one from a week ago too, what was it again?"

"You are my life." Daniel blurted out subconsciously, before facepalming at himself "I just helped digging my own grave."

"You doofus, did you just help me?!" Fay started laughing at him.

"Well, if I get you to call me darling, then everything is worth it." Daniel looked up at her with a mischievous look.

"Oh let me record it, then I can grab the perfect pronunciation for it," Fay said, taking out her phone in a joking manner.

"I hate you." Daniel rested his head on the table with a glum look "Can't you give me a nice reason for once? I'm trying my hardest here, to make you say once that I made you blush."

Fay started feeling a bit guilty, so she put away her phone and reached out her hand towards him over the table. Softly she started brushing her fingers through his hair "Alright, alright everything you said made my heart skip a bit. I'll admit that."

A bit surprised Daniel looked up at her through his bangs and when their gazes met everything else froze around them. It just happened and Fay forgot to breathe for a second.

The sound of a throat being cleared pulled them out off their trances. The barista stood next to their table with a pleased grin, and Fay quickly pulled her hand back from Daniel's hair.

"Please enjoy your orders." The barista winked at them, before placing the cake and coffee on the table.

"Thank you." Fay tried her best to not show how startled she was, and Daniel just kept staring at her with a sly but satisfied grin.

"So I do affect you?" Daniel thought, feeling more pleased than expected...
