Sarah fell violently onto the ground; she didn't release that she had lost her grip on the swing.
The last thing she remembered was a flashback of her Father's death. She just pictured herself hugging her Father before she fell out of the hospital bed, as the trolley rolled away from the ward. She had the same vibration as when she had fallen off the swing. With shock, Sarah began to cry.
Why was it that every time I see parents hugging their children that she thinks of her Father? I hate it! I didn't want him to go!
In haste, Sarah quickly picked herself up from the ground and backpack before heading out the park.
As she continued to run, Sarah could still feel her tears falling down her cheeks and the breeze blowing through her hair. Her wailing was unbearable to hear. Loud and clear, though no one stopped to see her. Just as she was about to head out the park, she accidentally bumped into a person.
The pair fell down onto the ground. Sarah - still crying - looked down; she couldn't bare to look at the person in front of her.
"You again?" asked a familiar voice. Although Sarah didn't look, she could tell who it was.
"Would you quit bumping into me?" Anthony cried.
"I could ask you the same thing!" she snapped. Sarah decided that she wasn't going to let him dominate her. With these words, she decided to get up from the ground and stand up for herself.
As he saw her staring in his face, Anthony noticed Sarah's tears. He paused with shock and suddenly, his smirk turned into a frown. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked softly.
"Are you pretending to be nice?"
"No", he confessed. "I really mean it. What happened?"
It was at that moment when Sarah realised that Anthony had a softer side. But she couldn't tell him about her father. She never told Arnold how he passed away, so why would she tell a stranger (whom she met twice)? So, she decided to tell him about the party. "I'm going to a costume party tomorrow and I've got nothing to wear".
"A certain damsel, hey? Like Cinderella? Well, we'll soon sort it out. Come with me. I'll take you to the most fanciest costume shop in Hillwood. I'm sure you'll find the perfect dress". Then out of the blue, he gently took her hand and gave her a twirl. "Princess, you shall go to the ball".
