Sarah's first half of the morning started extremely well.
She managed to settle in her new classroom, despite being distracted by a jealous Helga Pataki who didn't like Arnold giving her attention. She was after all her boyfriend.
Sarah didn't notice Helga, who was still sitting at the back of the classroom. It was a good thing because Helga had a plan to throw spitballs at her. Luckily, she didn't; Arnold sent her a small note during literature, saying that he'll let her be introduced to Sarah at recess.
During her first lesson, Sarah discovered that she felt very confident at reading out loud; and when the class were asked to write their own version of the Just So Stories, Sarah volunteered to share her story in front of her class and most of her classmates were impressed.
When the bell rang for recess, Arnold decided to stay behind in the classroom, so he could introduce the girls to each other. Gerald and Phoebe decided to stay too. Helga wasn't impressed.
'Helga', said Arnold, 'there's no need to be jealous because Sarah's the new girl'.
'No, football head, I'm not', she replied.
'Helga, right?' Sarah came up to the scowling blonde and extended her hand. 'Don't worry, I'm not going to steal your boyfriend'.
'How do you know for sure?'
'I have difficulty making friends', confessed Sarah. 'And you can judge me if you want. I have nothing against you'.
Helga thought for a moment before accepting her hand and shaking it while smiling. 'You got a lot of guts there. What did you say your name was?'
'Sarah'.
'Mind if I call you Britannia? I like to give nicknames to all my classmates'.
'Sure thing, Helga. Nice bow by the way'.
'Uh?'
'Pink's my favourite colour too. It's the colour of romance and from what I can see, you are an romantic. Arnold's very lucky to have a beautiful girl like you'.
Helga was touched; no one (expect for Arnold) had given her complaints before. 'I like you, Britannia', she said with a smile.
'Likewise', replied Sarah.
When the bell rang for the end of recess, the class had Science, which was followed by History. History was a jackpot for Sarah; it was her favourite subject but Sarah was ecstatic when she discovered that the class were going to focus on the Tudors. Throughout the entire session, Sarah raised her hand up and when she was picked to give her answers, she guessed them accurately. Ms Space was impressed by Sarah's memory and when she knew Sarah was going to guess everything correctly, she even let her new pupil write on the chalkboard while explaining Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries and his Six Wives. Her class were amazed too; perhaps she ought to become a teacher one day.
The time flew by and before the class knew it, it was lunchtime.
But before they could be dismissed, Ms Space had to make an announcement for her class.
'Before I dismiss everyone, I've given you all an assignment on the History on the Tudors during the 16th and 17th centuries. For the assignment, I've put everybody into groups of three. Each group will have to choose and research a topic during those two periods. You'll have two weeks to complete the assignment. Each group you will be expected to give presentations on their work in front of the whole class'.
Then, one by one, Ms Space called out each name before setting the students into the groups. When Sarah's name was called, she couldn't believe her luck. 'Sarah, you'll be partnered with Arnold and Helga'.
