Following the party, Sarah couldn't stop thinking about William. She thought about him every day (expect when she was studying). When she was sitting with her friends in the cafeteria or alone in her room, she thought about was William.

At first, no could understand why Sarah was behaving so strangely. Freya and Clare knew about Sarah's fascination. So did Lila; William told her about what happened at the party.

Arnold, Helga and the gang were absolutely clueless. They couldn't figure out what was happening. One day, Helga decided to talk to the girls about Sarah's strange behaviour.

However, Freya and Clare weren't sure how everyone would react to the news. So, they decided to cover it up.

"Oh, come on!" Helga cried. "It's not like she's sick or anything! We definitely need an answer!"

Freya and Clare shook their heads and eventually, Helga had given up.

And so had the gang. So, the matter was dropped. For the time being.

As the cold weather swept in toward Hillwood, preparations were underway for another celebration - thanksgiving. Mr Green prepared his butcher shop for customers to purchase their turkeys, all the residents at the boarding house began decorating all the rooms with Fourth of July flags (since Gertie was celebrating Independence Day) and at PS18, Ms Space was giving Sarah a spelling test in the Learning Support Department.

She was examining Sarah's answers.

"A nine out of ten", said Ms Space after examining the last word. "That's pretty good".

"I'm sorry I couldn't pronounce chocolate again, Ms Space", replied Sarah.

"Not too worry, there's always next time. But you did get Thanksgiving right, which is very good.

"Are you excited about your first Thanksgiving?"

Sarah wasn't sure. "I'm not sure what I'm thankful for. I mean, I have friends and a temporary home, but I feel that something is missing".

"Nothing's missing in your life, Sarah", Ms Space answered. "I think I know the answer".

"So, should I tell them that? Everyone at the Boarding House?"

"Do what you think is right, Sarah. I know you have difficulty with honesty, but you are getting better. I always wanted to see you happy and if you are kind and honest to somebody, then you will strengthen your relationship.

"You are an honest person, Sarah. You are growing up and one day, you'll release how trust is important. Not just for yourself but for your loved ones too".

The teacher and the student exchanged their smiles before the bell rang.

"Well, that's it for now, Sarah. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving".

"You too, Ms Space", Sarah replied. "Happy Thanksgiving".

On Thanksgiving morning, a sleepy Sarah awoke to the bright rays of the sun. Her eye lids blinked slowly as she found Molly tucked in her arm. Smiling, she kissed her friend on the cheek. "Happy Thanksgiving, Molly".

Molly didn't reply, though Sarah's imagination led her to believe that Molly was greeting her too.

"So, Molly, this is it. Our first Thanksgiving. How are you feeling about it?"

Molly didn't answer.

Sarah laughed. "I guess your not sure either.

"Thanksgiving is a strange holiday to us, but we're try to celebrate for everyone in the Boarding House. Then, we're allowed to be excited for Christmas. Christmas? Christmas!"
