Love is a nirvana that gives you the light and warmth of happiness. Love is the darkness that embraces you when your days started to mourn. Love is the key that opens every door towards acceptance of every imperfections existing in this world. Love can mean everything, and if ever I ask you who do you love the most, how long will it take you to utter your own name?
Many of us have experienced to love and to be loved. We give and we take, mutually, but we do not notice that the deeper we travel into the abyss of love, the harder for us to go back to the surface. The harder for us to see ourselves who are only waiting outside that abyss, waiting for us to come back and give the love we deserve for ourselves. We give too much love, too much care, and too much effort to other people that we forget to share some of it for ourselves. Love is not the typical star-crossed lovers we always hear ever since we were a child because sometimes it is the person you see everytime you look in the mirror.
If ever you decided to stop loving because no one ever stayed for you, don't make it an excuse to surround your heart with chains of loneliness. Love is definitely not the daily dose of your medicine because it cannot heal you each day. It can make you feel okay but it doesn't mean that you're free from all the pain because love is your cup of tea. It is your interest, your happiness, and the comfort you need to heal your dying heart. Every sip of it can make you jump into bliss but the aftertaste can be bittersweet. After all, love is a collection of anxiety, anger, and depression wrapped with smiles, sugar-coated words, and intimacy.
Love is not blind. It can never lose its own eyes. Its eyes that can see through your soul. Those magical orbs that can see a naked, bare, and beating heart that can make other people happy if only they could notice it. Those eyes that can see the beauty of a jewel that lost its sparkle. Those eyes that can even see the goodness within the beast.
Love is a gift that can push the boundaries of limitations and rules. It is also a curse that can take away a breath in an instant. It is a drug that can make you high and addicted. It can also be lethal if overdosed but, why do people still love despite knowing these characteristics? Why did they let themselves fall into abyss? Why did they choose to hold on into the rope of love instead of letting go?
It's because love is the proof that we are living. It is the fuel that adds intensity to the fire of life. It is the rainbow that colors the black and white drawing of our stage. It is the reason why we value things so much that we fear to lose them. It is love that rained down the past, aped the present, and showed the stairway towards a welcoming future.
