The next day, everything is the same as the day before until I get to art class. When I arrive Mason is already there. I sit in my seat next to him.
"Class, we will be starting a project today. You and your partner must find and draw seven wildflowers. You will have some class time to do this, you will need to get together with your partner outside school to get it done. You have two weeks," says the teacher. Then we all head outside to look for flowers. Mason and I head away from the group to find flowers. Apparently Mason knows a lot about wildflowers, so we find one easily. We decide we will take turns drawing the flowers. I will draw the first one he will draw the second one and so on. I begin drawing the flower while Mason watches.
"Here try this for the petal," he says.
Then he reaches his arms around me. He grabs my hand and guides the pencil around the paper. When he is finished the petal looks beautiful. He keeps his hand on mine for a bit longer. His hands are so big and warm. To soon, he pulls his hand back.
"Thanks," I say in a shy tone.
I don't finish drawing the flower until ten minutes until class is over.
"So when do you want to get together to work on this?" I ask.
"As soon as possible. I love spending time with you," he says. I can feel myself blush.
"I have piano right after school but how about I pick you up at 4 tonight. There is this place right by my house that has tons of flowers," he says.
"Oh sure," I say. Of course I have nothing going on, I never do.
"I will see you then. Oh I need your address," he says, smiling. His smile reaches his eyes. It is so adorable! I tell him my address, then head to spanish. I don't stop thinking about him all day.
