The next week is hard, but I survive. I begin to prepare for the new school year. It's time to move on.
The next day I walk into school and leave my past behind. I have moved on.
The day begins with an assembly. They welcome us to the new year and whatever. Then we get our schedules. Mine goes:
1* Chemistry
2* Calculus
3* AP English
4* History
5* Art
6* Spanish
I grab my books and head to Chemistry.
My first four classes fly by. The class I'm really excited for is art. I'm not the greatest artist, but I really like to draw. I walk into the classroom and there is a seating chart in the board. I'm sitting in the back of the class next to someone I have never heard of before. He must be new. I take my seat. The kid isn't here yet. The bell rings and class begins. About five minutes into class the door flies open. In walks a boy I have never seen before. He is really cute. He has blonde, short hair and bright blue eyes. He has on a black jacket and jeans.
"Sorry I'm late I got lost," he says.
"What's your name," asks the teacher.
"Mason," says the boy who now has a name.
"Well you sit in the back," says the teacher pointing to the desk next to mine.
He walks over and sits next to me.
"Hey, I'm Emily," I say.
"As you probably heard I'm Mason," he says.
"Class, the person sitting next to you will be your partner for our first assignment. We will start the day off with a warm up. Please draw a picture of your summer with only a pencil," says the teacher.
I pull you my drawing pad and come across a blank. What should I draw. In the end I decide to draw the field from camp. I also draw Jacob, Bell, Beth, Julia, and myself sitting on the grass.
Mason leans over and asks," I know it's none of my business, but is that your boyfriend in the picture?"
"No," I tell him, "I don't have a boyfriend."
"Oh," he says then he returns to drawing his picture.
I look over at his picture. It's amazing! The drawing is of a house on the beach. You can see the waves crashing on the sand. It looks so beautiful there.
"Wow, that's amazing," I say.
"Oh thanks," he says.
Just then the bell rings.
"Um. Emily will you help me find my next class," he says.
"Sure," I say.
I walk him to his next class, chemistry, then I head to spanish.
