The next day we spend the morning packing. I can't believe it is already time to go home. When we finish packing, we head up to breakfast. After breakfast we all spend the day getting ready for our parents arrival. We take our bags out and put them in a pile by the parking lot to grab on our way out. The day flies by and soon enough it's 7. Our parents will be here in a half hour. I catch Jacob's eye and we both head down to the field. We lay on the grass holding hands thinking about how this is all about to end.
I sit up and ask,"Jacob, what happens to us after today."
"Well, we can still keep in contact but I hate to say it but when people are apart they grow apart," he says.
I tear I didn't know was forming in my eye slid down my cheek.
"Emily don't cry," he says.
"But it's over. We are going home," I say.
"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened," he says.
"I love you," I say.
"I love you too," he replies.
Then he kisses me. I don't know if it's because it's the last kiss we will share, but it feels special. His arms wrap around the small of my back, pulling me closer. I wrap my arms around his neck. He pulls me so I am sitting on his lap. The kiss is passionate and wonderful. I can feel the electric shock running through me. I wish we could have stayed like this forever, but the bell rang which meant we had to return to the field for pickup. We walk hand in hand to go meet our parents.
