Stuck in the middle.

Chapter 43

Mason texts me early Sunday morning:
Hey are you doing anything today?
I text back:
Nope. Pond at 11?
He replies:
Sounds good. Want me to come pick you up?
I reply:
No I will drive myself over.
He texts back:
Okay. See you soon.
I get ready, eat breakfast, and drive to the pond.
"Hey," I say as I walk up to Mason.
"Hi," he says as he pulls me onto his lap.
"What do you want to do today?" he asks.
"I don't know what do you think?"
"We could go to the beach."
"Okay."
The beach is about a 45 minute drive from the pond. Mason drives and we drop my car off at my house. I run inside and grab a swimsuit. I haven't been to the beach in such a long time. When we first get there we just relax on the sand. It's so pretty here.
After awhile Mason asks, "Do you want to go in the water?"
"Sure," I reply.
He runs into the water and dunks. I get up to my stomach then I stop.
"What's wrong?" he asks.
"It's cold," I say.
He runs at me and I quickly try to run out of the water. The water is up to my knees when he catches up to me. He grabs me around the waist and carries me deeper into the water.
"Put me down," I yell while laughing.
"Are you ready?" he asks, "3, 2, 1, go!"
He dunks bringing me down with him. When we come up it turns into a game of who can dunk the other first. We are both holding onto each others elbows trying to pull the other under the water. Finally I push him under, but I'm pretty sure he let me. When he comes up I'm still laughing. I am having so much fun. That's when I realize something.
"It's you," I say.
"What?" he asks.
"I want to be with you," I tell him.
"Wait really?" he asks in shock.
"Yes. Mason I love being around you. You know how to turn a bad day into a good day. I love how much fun we have together. I love how you make me feel. I love your smile. Even when Jacob showed up, I never let go of you. I couldn't. On some level I think I always knew I wanted to be with you. I need to be with you."
"Oh my god. I thought you were going to choose Jacob. I thought I was going to loose you. I couldn't stand to loose you. You don't realize it but you are so beautiful. I love the way you hide behind you hair when you laugh. I love your laugh. I love your smile. It lights up every room you walk into. I love everything about you. I love you Emily."
"I love you too Mason."
He pulls me to him and presses his lips to mine. I pull him as close to me as I can. I love him so much. The kiss ends then we get out of the water. We wrap up in a towel and watch the sunset.
Once the sun sets Mason takes me home. I am so glad I choose Mason. The hard part was going to be telling Jacob at school tomorrow.
