Jacob picks me up at noon and takes me to a nice diner in town. When we get there he comes over to my door and offers me his hand I take his hand and he pulls me up.
"I never got to take you on a proper date while we were at camp," he says.
Lunch is delicious. When we finish eating we head outside and sit in the grass.
"I've missed you so much," he says.
"I've missed you too," I say resting my head on his shoulder.
"You know I still love you right?" he says.
I don't know what to say. I can't say I love him too, not when u still have feelings for Mason.
"You don't need to say you love me back I just wanted you to know. I understand you have a hard decision to make," he says.
"Thank you," I say.
He talks me home around 3. He kisses me on the cheek and I head inside.
Once I'm in my room I check my phone. I have a long text from Mason that reads:
Emily I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have over reacted like I did. I miss you. I love you. I'm sorry I'm making this decision harder for you. I'm so sorry.
I decide it's time to forgive him. I text back:
Hey. We need to talk. Pond in 15 minutes?
He texts back almost immediately:
Yes I will see you there.
I get in the car and drive to the pond. When I get there he is already there.
"Hey," I say walking over to him.
"Emily I am so sorry," he starts but I stop him.
"It's okay. I forgive you," I say as I sit down next to him.
He looks shocked then he kisses me. He pulls me onto his lap. The kiss ends, but I stay on his lap.
"So what have you been doing this weekend?" he asks.
"I have been hanging out with Jacob," I say. I'm not going to lie to him.
"I expected that. Did he kiss you?" he asks.
"Yes. I'm sorry Mason I need to figure out how I feel. God I feel like such a slut," I say.
"I understand you need to figure things out and you're not a slut. You are only trying to figure out a tough situation," he says.
"Thank you for understanding. I hate fighting with you," I say.
"I hate fighting too," he says.
"So are you okay with me hanging out with Jacob?"
"I don't think I have a choice."
I am so glad that Mason and I made up. It is like a weight of guilt has been lifted off my shoulder. We hangout at the pond for about an hour then I drive home. I have no idea how I'm going to make this decision.
