Stuck in the middle.

Chapter 21

The next day starts with him picking me up for school. The school day is rather boring, even art. All we do is learn about different techniques. We don't even have time to work on our projects. After school we go to the pond. We get out of the car and he runs over to me and picks me up and spins me around. I start laughing. His lips settle on mine. They are soft and warm like the rest of him. We sit on the grass and spend the time talking. Everyday I learn more about him. Turns out he's 17, a year older than me. We continue to learn more about each other by spending the afternoon asking each other all kinds of questions.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" he asks.

"Um well kind of," I start. Do I tell him about Jacob?

"What does that mean?" he asks. I decide to tell him.

"Well there was this boy, Jacob, I met at summer camp. We kind of fell in love. When camp ended we went our separate ways and that's that," I tell him.

"When was this?" he asks.

"Um like a month ago," I say awkwardly.

"Oh," he says,"So are you over him."

"Yeah," I say, "Well what about you."

"What about me?" he asks.

"Have you ever had a girlfriend."

"Nope."

"Really?" I say shocked.

"Yeah, do I have a girlfriend now?"

"I think so," I say smiling.

Then his lips are on mine. He pushes me back against the grass. Then he is on top of me. I unbutton his shirt, exposing his abs. We stay like this for awhile. Finally I sit up.

"I don't want to move to fast," I say and I know he understands what I mean.

"Me neither," he says.

We talk until it gets late then he takes me home.

When we get to my house he asks,"Tomorrow, will you go out to dinner with me?"

"Are you asking me on a date?" I ask smiling and raising at eyebrow at him.

"I guess I am," he says smiling.

"Then I accept," I say.

Before I can get out of the car he pulls me in for one last kiss.

"See you tomorrow," he says.

"Night," I say.

Then I get out of the car and head inside. I go into my room and fall right to sleep. That night my dreams are filled with Mason.
