Saturday afternoon came around and as promised I drove round to Vicky's and we went to the lake together, despite the cool weather she was wearing denim shorts and a partially see through top.

I walked down the steps with Vicky to where the music was playing and people were dancing. Greg waved to us from the bar where he was talking to Jase and Eva.

"Hey mate." We shook hands in greeting as Vicky went to stand by Eva.

"Drinks?" I offered taking out my wallet.

"What we having?" Jase asked Greg.

"I'll have a beer." Greg nodded to me, "I'll buy the next lot."

"Jase?" I offered.

"I'll have a beer too." Jase smiled.

"Ladies?" I offered turning to Eva and Vicky.

"Two vodka and coke's please." Eva smiled to us.

I ordered the drinks and chatted with the boys while Vicky and Eva wandered off to socialise and dance.

"So you bought Vicky?" Greg asked me as we drank our third beer at the bar.

"Yeah, I picked her up." I nodded.

"Well if you're serious about her, behind the DJ's stand there's a lit path the leads towards the woods." Jase told me, "She'll like that."

"I'll take her down there in a minute." I nodded, "Thanks for the tip."

"Good luck." Greg took a swig of his beer as Vicky came over.

"Are you talking about me?" She giggled.

"I was just asking where you were." I took her hand and smiled, "I wanted to take you somewhere."

"Where?" She asked, intrigued now.

"I'll show you." I put down my empty bottle and pulled her by the hand around the back of the DJ stand and towards the dimly lit path that went along the edge of the lake.

"This is lovely." Vicky smiled as she hung on to my arm.

"Mm." I agreed as I looked up to the half moon, "Doubt that the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move his aides, Doubt truth to be a liar, But never doubt love." I quoted softly.

"That's beautiful." Vicky turned to me as we stopped 

"Shakespeare." I told her, "Hamlet I believe."

"I think you're amazing Edward, smart, handsome." She trailed off and glanced down to my lips, my hands were on her hips and hers were on my shoulders.

"I like you too Vicky." I murmured and leant down, catching her lips with mine.

We gasped and pulled apart as a twig snapped in the nearby woods.

"What was that?" Vicky asked.

"Stay here." I told her as I stepped towards the trees, suspicious.

"Be careful Edward!" She called as I reached the edge of the trees. My eyesight wasn't as good as my siblings was for obvious reasons but it was good enough to see the wolf like form hidden in the undergrowth.

I hissed at him and turned back to the path.

"What was it?" Vicky asked as I reached her.

"I don't know, probably an animal that we scared off." I glared towards where I had seen the wolf, knowing he would see me. Assuming it was who I thought it was, I didn't doubt it was Jacob come to check up on me.
