Chapter 20
Alice
I groaned as I flung myself down next to Jasper, he wrapped his arms around me and kissed the side of my head, “What’s up?”
“I think for the first time in my existence, I’m bored!” I told him, “Nobody will play chess with me because I apparently cheat, Bella and ‘renesmee have gone shopping without me! Esme refuses to let me redecorate anywhere because it’s only just been done, and Rose is too busy with Emmet to do anything.”
With a family this size how can there be nothing to do?
Jasper chuckled and ran his nose up my neck to my jaw, teasing me gently. He then pulled back and sighed, still with his arms around me, “It’s a while since we just sat and talked.”
I looked to him and thought about it, it actually had been. I swung my legs up so I was sat across his lap and rested my head on his shoulder, “I never realised how much of a difference Edward actually made,” I sighed, “There’s always this gap now, don’t you think?”
He nodded in understanding and agreement, “Hunting trips with Emmet aren't the same.”
I laughed, “You can’t gang up on him now!”
Jasper smirked, “Exactly.”
I thought back to the other month when the tornado had hit, Emmet had told me that Jasper had insisted he let Carlisle go in to the burning house.
“Why did you tell Emmet to let Carlisle go?” I looked up to him, “You know what that would have done to Edward?”
Jasper sighed and nodded sadly, his fingers drawing patterns on my hands, “Carlisle and Esme love each other as much as we do,” He waited until i met his eyes before continuing, “If we had have kept Carlisle from going after her you have no idea what emotional torment he would have gone through had the worst have happened.”
I leant against him again, everything would be so less complicated if the real Edward was here! Jasper felt my change in mood and held me tightly, “It didn’t happen though,” He reminded me, “And in another year and a half he’ll be back.”
I sat up and smiled, “Do you think he’ll ask Bella to marry him again?”
He laughed at my sudden change in mood, “Most likely.”
“I could start planning it,” I pulled away and jumped up, only to be pulled back to Jasper’s lap.
“And what if he doesn’t ask her?” He pointed out, “Besides, I can think of a more important wedding that needs organising,”
I frowned and pulled back a little to look at him, “Who’s?” I folded my arms, “Who’s wedding could be more important than our brothers!?”
He smirked and slipped my gold band off my finger, he played with it in his hands before holding it up to me, “Your own?”
I gasped and laughed, “Really?”
Jasper smiled to me and nodded, “I think fifty years is more than long enough, don’t you?”
I hugged him tightly and closed my eyes as we kissed gently.
I pulled back and held my hands out to him, “We should go hunting.”
We ran far in to the forest, racing each other and pretending to fight as we went. Of course I cheated a little by using my visions to foresee his actions. I smiled as he stopped directly below the branch I was crouched on, I could see him looking around and listening for me. I smiled as I saw him about to look up to me and jumped down on to his back. We both laughed as I leant around to kiss him but froze when I had a vision. I was barely aware of Jasper pulling me around to his front as he held me tightly.
