Chapter 17
Much needed Girl Time
"Oh MY goodness!" Evelyn gasped as she opened her door, her large blue eyes filled with sympathy.
I nodded, staying quiet but not really bringing my mood down as she saw my beaten eye.
She pulled me in, her long perfectly straightened brown hair swishing as she moved. Evelyn had been my good friend since we have been in primary, along with most of my friends, since our class was the only french immersion we were with the same people every year. It was a big change when we'd gone to High School.
"Hey everybody! Sophie's here!" She yelled, closing the door with her petite foot. I heard thuds of footsteps coming down the steps, full speed.
"Sophie!" The girls cried enthusiastically. I laughed as we joined into a massive group hug.
"Whew! We havn't had a sleepover in ages!" Payton whined as she hugged me, I returned the hug enthusiastically. We drew apart, her bright green cat eyes sparkling with excitement and her long wildly curly fiery red hair framing her cute little face. She was tough, loud and outspoken, like a kitten thinking she was a lion. But if you ever say that to her then she would staple you to the floor.
"I know! Liz should be here any second, Josh is dropping her off." I told the five excited girls. They nodded, and I picked my sleep stuff into the living room where there was already a pile of bags. Jeez those girls over pack.
You see, every last day of school Evelyn hosts a sleepover with all us girls. It's our tradition since grade 3, and we have strictly followed it.
"Hey Girls!" I heard the familiar voice behind me, Liz walked in with a big smile plastered on her face. We all did the over-excited group hug thing, and I am ashamed to say that I actually squealed and giggled along with my girlfriends.
"So..." Evelyn started once we were all seated comfortably in her living area, she nudged Jessica suggestively. "How's it between you and Adam?"
Jessica and us have became good friends recently, ever since Adam took interest in her and finally managed to hike up his skirt and ask her to Prom. She was a little sweetheart, with her petite figure and dark pixy hair.
She blushed and took sudden interest in the couch. "We've been going on dates and such... But he's never asked me to be his girlfriend...." She smiled sheepishly. I knitted my eyebrows together, really? Adam tells me all the time about how much he likes her. I mentally noted to talk him up to it.
"He's just a coward, I swear, he talks about you all the time!" I told her, rolling my eyes when I said 'all' to prove my point.
"Really?" She giggled quietly. I nodded and she blushed. This girl really was adorable.
"So, enough about my love life! What about you, Gracie?" Jessica asked the tall golden blond. Gracie was a sporty blond bombshell, long lean legs and a flat tummy. She's always on the beach playing volleyball with some hotties and flirts without knowing. Her hair was long and bright blond, golden from the sun. She opened her large dark green eyes wide, the question throwing her off guard.
"Oh, you know. A couple dates her and there. Nothing serious." She brushed it off, as if it was no big deal. "Katelyn, you seeing anybody?"
Katelyn shook her head sadly. She had just been through a break up, and was still shaken up a bit. Payton, who was sitting next to her on the couch, rubbed her back reassuringly.
